I haven't been here like I should for a while now (sorry bug)! However I came across a pretty good series of essays on SDR development and implementation. Not sure if it has been shared here before, but I liked the read. I've never heard of the source before, so I am not sure of his credibility, but it seemed reasonable to me.

Good to see you again. I skimmed through the four parts. Not sure about everything he says, but he did highlight a lot of connected issues. Wheels are in motion.
