Sounds like Al Jazeera interviewed a folks from a prospecting club that does this all the time. It's not really a "new gold rush". Sounds like the heavy rains helped one guy find $20 worth of gold flakes. Bully for him.
 
Interesting the video. I've heard about a cryptocurrency that allows them to buy Gold. You should think about it so that you do not devalue the money.
