I have a thing for low-wattage guitar amplifiers. And the 1957 Fender 5F1 Champ is an iconic example. Many classic recordings were done using this circuit back in the day. The original 5F1 used an 8" speaker, but I upped that to a 12" Weber Red Dog rated at 15 watts and 4 ohms. I kept the circuit stock except for using a 5V4 rectifier tube instead of the 5Y3 the schematic calls for. The 5V4 has a slightly lower internal impedance making the amp slightly punchier with a stronger lower end.

Cabinet is maple with cherry inlaid dovetails. Oil finish.

That handle really doesn't look sturdy enough to carry the box once you fill the secret compartments with gold and silver bars.

I made an ozonator just like that, but without the dovetails.
