Oil rises by over $1 as White House says no US-Iran talks happening

NEW YORK, Aug 27 (Reuters) - Oil prices rose by more than $1 on Thursday, after Washington confirmed it was not in talks with Iran despite diplomatic efforts by other countries, and hopes dimmed for a resumption of oil flows through the Middle East.

Mysterious MAGA fuel chain pushed by Trump smacked with allegation it uses stolen gas

President Donald Trump publicly praised the mysterious new "Freedom Fuel Network" for its patriotic low gas prices. A new lawsuit alleges the real secret behind those cheap fill-ups was theft.

Georgia-based fuel supplier Mansfield Oil Co. filed a complaint on August 19 claiming that KRSM, a company run by New Jersey fuel businessman Syed Kazmi, acquired more than 1 million gallons of fuel, worth roughly $4 million, from a Sunoco terminal and never paid for it. Some of that fuel, the lawsuit alleges, ended up at stations within the Freedom Fuel Network, which now operates 29 locations.

Trump seeking ways to shield farmers from expansion of refinery biofuel waivers - report

The Trump administration is discussing plans to shield the U.S. Farm Belt from an expected expansion of waivers of biofuel laws, which is under consideration as a way to ‌cut gasoline prices for motorists, Reuters reported this week.

Trump is considering a plan that would increase biofuel quotas for the 2027 calendar year by ~500M gallons to offset any damage caused by the soon-to-be-announced exemptions for smaller refineries, which are expected to roughly double from 990M renewable fuel credits to as many as 1.8B, the report said.

Gas prices surge ahead of Labor Day weekend, giving drivers sticker shock

DREXEL HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- Rising gas prices are leaving some drivers with sticker shock ahead of the Labor Day weekend, as prices at several local stations sit above the state average and significantly higher than a year ago.

At the intersection of Township Line and State roads in Drexel Hill, gas was selling for $4.39 per gallon at Wawa and Speedway, while a nearby Sunoco station was charging $4.24 per gallon.

All three prices were above Pennsylvania's statewide average and about a dollar higher than a year ago.

Workers at a Wawa in Glassboro, New Jersey, said gas prices increased 28 cents overnight.
