We are back in Broome for another season and have been busy preparing our boat 'Big Ned' to head out to sea for its first trip. Ive been behind the scenes capturing what i can as the crew does everything from slipping the boat and cleaning to fitting out the boat with dive gear, painting, and a look at what goes into making our dive hoses every year so that we can communicate with the surface from the sea floor. The pearling diaries episode 2 (WE FOUND 2 WILD GROWN PEARLS!) - Shell harvest trip​

In this installment we've got a pilates and fish taco night followed by our first trip of the season to harvest commercial pearl shell thats been growing over the last 15 years. In-between the banter it was a great trip to run the boat in before our first diving trip gets under way.

Pearl diving diaries (Saxaphone, Shell diving and EMERGENCIES) - episode 3​

Our first official shell diving trip for the season and some big scores were coming aboard the boat. The pearl shell fishery is healthier than ever according to recent fishery surveys and our crew have the usual goodtimes and banter as we go through various simulated drills, a bit of fishing and a lot of diving.
DISCLAIMER - the beer was not actually consumed. It was used to make it feel somewhat like a friday knock off.
