They Told Victims to Leave Gold in a Public Park... Here’s What Happened

Oct 24, 2026 #silver #gold #preciousmetals
This is one of the strangest and most bizarre gold scams ever uncovered! In Norway and around the world, fraudsters are convincing victims to purchase physical gold, drive out to a forest or public park, and leave it on the ground for safe keeping—only for it to vanish instantly. We break down how these psychological manipulation and "pig butchering" romance tactics work, why physical gold's anonymity makes it a prime target for criminals, and how you can protect your wealth and your loved ones from falling victim to financial fraud.

Ive been dispatched to calls like this by family members whose elderly parents are getting scammed like this, getting talked into giving their wealth to scammers, including gold. Well its not a crime to "give" your property to others and I really had no probable cause to make a case report but I would anyway. Even if I had to tell the family members it was probably going nowhere and the judge would probably refuse the warrant. In the narrative I'd spice up the facts of the case, hey if they want to toss the report away then thats on them. I never had a "gold in the woods" case but Ive had some pretty crazy ones mostly involving cash and/or jewelry.

You may say to yourself, "who could be soft enough to give another they hardly know their wealth"? But the elderly are prime targets because they often are not all there and/or are lonely and confused and easy marks for scammers. So I'd go out of my way for the family members to justify a theft or fraud warrant hoping a Judge would sign off on it and at the least include an order of protection in the warrant orders that would prevent any contact between the fraudster and the victim. Here you really need to the help of a Doctor will to state the victim is in a Joe Biden state. Mentally able to control the release of 4,000 strategic nukes but unable to control his check book.

Even Legit sales people aren't much better then fraudsters. Ive gotten to the point where I'm unapologetically mean and nasty to these A-holes who think they have the right to call me on the phone after somehow getting my number and try and swindle me into buying something I dont need or want. At 8:00 PM no less.
