Just in passing, I learned that about eight states issue OWNERSHIP permits for handguns (all firearms in some states, I believe) - not CC permits, but ownership. You cannot have one in your home or in your personal control, without permission from your State, in those regions.
I don't see this slowing down. As the economy collapses and people are forced into living in old RVs...they're blaming, not Globalism but the free-enterprise system. Marxist government drones, NYC and Seattle just two examples...have become suddenly popular. GOVERNMENT is the answer - UBI, Stablecoins, government "Health Insurance." They ignore obvious potential abuses, and past failures of socialized medicine...because they WANT to believe a pleasing Narrative.
Which the shadowy Elites wish to push onto them, with propaganda.

The trouble is, we're in a self-absorbed, infantile society, ruled by sexual deviants and brain-damaged Spectrum candidates, with their 80-or-moar injections done before their first year. BRAIN DAMAGED. Angry because things don't work for them. Furious in general - sexual deviance is often a symptom of major mental disorder.
And into this comes I'm-The-Greatest. I look back at all those fawning Babwa Wawa interviews of young Trump...here's a guy who looked about 25 (he was 35 or so, back then) in a thousand-dollar suit, when a thousand dollars was real money. To my old-fart modern eyes, he looked like Richie Rich, the comic-book kid.
The shift to self-absorption and unseriousness fed RIGHT INTO everything wrong with Trump. Including this. I don't know what drove him to the war - blackmail, threats, or flattery - but I can follow the thought process that had him go along with it. Wars are good for the economy (as he understands it) - look at what all those Splendid Little Wars of the past did for stawks, especially MIC stawks! There's PROOF...we can grow this economy by launching the Greatest War in the History of History.

Which I shared - I was guilty of the Oil-Is-Oil delusion until just a few weeks ago. I hadn't realized what the different gradings, Light-Sweet, versus heavy tar oil, meant. I just thought, different levels of refining.
Nope. Some oil is completely useless for other purposes. Oil is oil, but only by grading. The light-sweet coming out of Iran is not going to be substituted by Venezuelan thick sour, suitable for asphalt and bunker fuel.
Just one example. Then, fertilizer - I'm SURE Trump never thought of it, beyond scatological jokes. I hadn't either, never having been a farmer. I hadn't realized that, just, fertilizing crops, had become so dependent on industrial processes.
And if I had, I'd have been scared schittless.
If this war does ANYTHING good, it will be to destroy the War-Is-Profitable falsehood for a century. War is the ultimate failure of human relationships. War is RAW POWER writ large. War is, the drunken bully in a tavern, beating the snot out of you to amuse his sadistic woman, giggling from her bar-stool...just amplified 100,000 times. RAW POWER. You will do this because otherwise we'll kill your officials and break all your things.
That is not profitable. The most profitable-for-America war, WWII, had a flip side - Europe was hungry for a generation, only achieving true prosperity in the mid-1960s. Few of that generation of Europeans, thought war was a good thing.
The bimbos running the EU, came later. Spoiled, stupid and delusional. Eyes wide with thought of Russian booty there for the grabbing.
That is how wars start - that stupid leadership. How they end, is in piles of rubble and carcasses.
Now we have to relearn this. Judas Priest...where does anyone think I learned it? In good SCHOOLS, in the 1960s! Buttressed by my European-immigrant father who LIVED through it!
