Driving rich people out of N.Y., I wonder if housing prices well come down. For Miami area, just another rich guy.

It won't.

The "rich" are relatively few.

Best way to lower rents fast, would be to get rid of all the illegals.

A landlord wanting to make profit from renting their property, is not the problem.

Too much demand for existing supply, is the problem.
.....and illegals place more demand on housing than do the relatively fewer number of rich people place on it.
....and it causes Americans would have been able to rent the places illegals took instead, to have to pay more elsewhere.

So getting rid of illegals is the fastest way to lower rents, and housing costs in general.

Deporting the illegals will also open up entry level jobs for young adults.

That too.

Also, we shouldn't forget the excess demand they create for food.

30 million extra mouths all placing more demand on the food supply.

Then when Biden let millions more in, that placed a lot of extra demand for food at a time when the supply of food had no way of keeping up.

Just like you can't greatly and quickly increase the demand for electric without also increasing the infrastructure that delivers that electricity, you cannot add millions of mouths to feed without also increasing the production of food by an equal amount.

Or you get price inflation of your food. Same as with higher demand for electric at a time they aren't building new base generation facilities. Ie: nat gas, coal, and nuclear.

So not only has the price inflation we have all seen in recent years in our food bills been caused by all the covid era money printing, but also by the increased demand the illegals place upon in.

Worse part is, the invasion is only on pause.

I saw recently where there are already large numbers being readied for a new wave of fake asylum seekers in anticipation of Dems winning big in the midterms.

Edited to add: with the idea that if the Dems can tie Trump's hands, caravans of people start swarming the border again.
Trump getting in and being able to stop it was just a first step of a generation + long process. The people pushing for this open border BS won't ever stop.

Thanks to SNAP and other welfare programs, more than 60% of the illegals in this country are eating on the taxpayer dime. All while cranking out spawn as quickly as they can.

Just remember, everything you say about illegal aliens, applies to our Hasidic Jews...amazing how many freeloaders on the wagon. Time to end welfare.

You're talking about approx 350,000 people, max.

There's AT LEAST 30 million illegals here.

So absolutely no comparison.

The point is it isn't the 350,000 that are driving up the price of housing and food, and driving down wages.
Yes they are, once the first freeloaders climb on the wagon, its only a matter of time till wagon gets to heavy for the rest of us to pull...

Eventually, IMHO.

But Gnu Yuck is gonna look like Dee-troyit. Whole neighborhoods abandoned and collapsing. The industrial basis (autos in Detroit; money-changing in Gotham) is driven out (Japan, with Detroit; Florida and the Cayman Islands, with the other).

It is not gonna be pretty. Gnu Yark has outlived its usefulness. Publishing is a dead industry; railroads are irrelevant and are a de-facto fourth branch of government. Broadcasting moved out long ago. That only leaves moneychanging, and Texas and Florida offer tremendous tax advantages.

And after The Collapse, Gnu Yuck will stay irrelevant. As we're working out of a second agrarian age, we won't NEED moneychangers. Less even than the Colonies did - they had built up wealth over 150 years; we'll be starting with nothing.

Good riddance to a damp, dank, unhealthy sump of a city.

NYC collapses, upstate might regain its freedom...

NYC collapses, upstate might regain its freedom...
I don't think they regain that, until the whole nation is un-recognizable.

This looks like a death spiral, to me.

Also, the rest of the state is brain-poisoned from having lived with such demented governance for 70 years. Not like some other areas, where personal responsibility and freedom are traditions...

I know this well. Having bought a home in the Vampire State, and then years later, looking to buy in what were then Red regions (didn't buy, and thank all gods for that) I can tell you the difference. Gnu Yarkers cannot imagine a real-estate sale without lawyers on both sides, running up the costs. Rural counties in Wisconsin simply refer to plat maps, and let it go. A quick survey of sale documents, in a non-mortgage deal, by a paralegal, was all anyone expected or needed.

The heavy regulatory infrastructure on ALL aspects of life, lead to greater cost, and also regulatory capture. For example, electricity cost in the Buffalo area, were almost double that of Cleveland...only 170 miles away, and essentially served by the same power-generation infrastructure. NY had heavy regulatory structure to "protect" "consumers" which the power providers learned to use like tools. PLUS, the cumbersome, opaque operation of these utilities, led to investors shying away. Niagara-Mohawk Power Corp, one of two of an Upstate duopoly, had management so weary of micromanaging and, probably, demands that bordered on criminal behavior, that they voted to sell themselves to a British collection of utility companies called National Grid. Based in London, far away from any blowback.

I had met a man laid off from NM shortly after the deal - in line at Lowes to buy a generator for a power outage, how's that for irony - and he suggested getting a good one, as I'd be using it a lot. He referred to trunk high-tension lines between Ohio and the Buffalo area (we all knew where those were; they were a landmark path of steel pylons marching through) that used IRON wire, not copper. Put up during WWII...and replacement with copper was always "deferred." The company was starting a practice of training fire-hoses on overloaded transformers in substations to keep them cool.

Nice, huh? We were SO lucky to have all that government regulation.

THAT is the kind of crap that mind-copulated NY residents won't know how to live without.

That's what socialism does. It promises everything and delivers nothing.
