One of the most ardent advocates for liberty in the US political theater for the last few decades, Ron Paul, suffered a stroke the other day. He went to the hospital and is apparently OK. From what I know about TIAs, it's likely that Ron may have more in the future. There are precious few statesmen left in American politics.

Liberties and freedoms are being restricted to various degrees all over the country in the name of pandemic safety measures. It's impacted economic activity and the fabric of American life.

Protests and riots rage in various parts of the country. Whether truly organic or the product of organized campaign(s), the effect is the same - destabilization (and increased governmental powers/response to quell them).

Political theater with the upcoming elections - specifically with the Trump/Biden POTUS race is really ratcheting up. I saw a news report that businesses near the building where tonight's debate will be held are boarding up windows in anticipation of rioters/violence. The fears of a contested result could put a spark to the increasingly polarized population of the country. There is a reason gun and ammo sales amongst first time buyers is at an all time high.

I fear that Ray Dalio might be right about his prediction of a near term catastrophic event.

It would seem that those who would control actually want a civil war.
Its a fantastic distraction and they really dont mind if people die, in fact its part of the plan.

Destroying everything so they can do 'the great reset' and reboot the new green economy along with as much robotics, AI, and remote monitoring of humans as technology will achieve ........... oh yeah and rewilding half the land area of the planet

Wow. The "debate" last night was a complete shitshow. How embarrassing. America dined on rhetorical/political red meat last night.

The only really important thing to glean from it is that Trump is already planning to contest the mail in ballot votes for the upcoming election in the courts. A significant portion of this country is going to feel like they were disenfranchised on a fundamental part of American politics.

Also didn't help that Trump apparently dumped gasoline on the simmering race war with his "stand by" comment on white supremacists.

Couldnt bring myself to watch such shallow theatre

There we are trying to convince ourselves that Trump is actually quite smart and he would seem to have chosen to play the part of a gladiator fighting for his life ....
Whereas a calm, measured approach would have been far more impressive, even if he is fighting for his political life
