Anyone watching it?

If ya are, I hope you already got your eye protection.
 
Only 70 percent, here.

It'll be an overcast sky, so we won't really notice it so much. Sky will get a bit darker.

When the last one passed through, a few years back, I had the time, so I traveled to Idaho Falls to see it in full. My idea was to use my iPad camera to record it...but I didn't count on the available-light compensator. I got a couple of shots of the sun covering up, but the darkness, the pall in the skies, it completely missed.

I was camping in a big open lot owned by the USFS, with a dozen other lookie-lous. One camper had two hound dogs, quite friendly...but their reaction to the sudden darkening, was amusing. They were running around and howling...
 
My son still had his special solar eclipse glasses from the last one and we took turns today having a look. Really cool and surreal event.
 
Btw, cold front blew in last night. Right now there isn't a cloud in the sky. Visibility could not be better. I'm also close to the 100% band. When I looked a moment ago, the sun was a very thin crescent.
 
It was weird, all of a sudden the day turned kind of dark.

Got my welding goggles out to take a peek.

The Moon was 1/4 across the Sun. It traversed for the next 40 minutes or so... now it's starting to get brighter outside.
 
During a total eclipse it gets so dark stars are clearly visible. Birds and animals freak out. The population of Wyoming went from 1 million to two overnight.
