I think most folks are following this strategem:

Madonna has never been happy. She's a lifelong spoiled malcontent - and demonstrated it, in how she started.
Did she join a band of young musicians, and work her way up? No...she moved from Rochester, Michigan, to NYC, without a job or any sort of money. Whored to survive. Remember the nude photos she did? Story was, she was paid $35 for the session.
The photos were pretty explicit; showed a hirsute street tramp of Italian heritage...and something tells me, she made a little more money after the camera got put away.
When she first signed a recording contract - after four years of chronic clubbing - one clause in it, stipulated she provide proof she was on medical birth control. Because the first concern of the agent was, she turn up knocked up. Why would he think such a thing, unless he'd had it confirmed?
These are not the acts of a stable or happy young woman. And she hasn't aged well, either.
