In Asian nations, the hoores are allowed specific areas. And, at least when I was in Singapore and (pre-handover) Hong Kong, those areas were ***OFF LIMITS*** to Navy personnel.
Now, this was a soft off-limiting of the area; there weren't Shore Patrol guards on the perimeters. There wasn't even any interest in the talk, of guys who went there (a lot of old-heads did, for memory's sake; because they had those good times 20 years earlier).
No...this was done so when a guy got rolled or beat up, he wouldn't go whining to his DivO about all the bad things that happened...forcing the command to report it. And if he got in legal trouble himself, the JAG would drop the hammer. Immediate processing for OTH separation - disobeying direct orders connected to the mission of the port visit (to spread Goodwill and Understanding, yada yada).
Now, today...the guys who were boot-camps when we hit Singapore, just a few months in...are all out, now. That was 35 years ago; and Pattaya Beach hasn't been A Thing for the Squids since Reagan was in office. There's no memory - only the telling of legends; the greybeards telling the stories now, were kids when they heard their old-heads talk.

That's probably how it all is, now...if you like riding the Jello ocean with a broad beam...which is what the Type Fs tend to be like.
