I wish the other countries would dump our bonds, they can only do it once...

Wow, all the oil stealing we've done, the horrible genocide in Gaza and the West Bank we are part of, and this wanker said nothing...

"We are not white, as you can see. We are of color, and so we know our rights probably will be taken away."
Ahem.
Why bring up race or complexion here? Her face appears lighter than many. Her words about the treatment of the inuit need more background information. I need more history of how the US oppressed them, so I can better understand that. Canada does have a very bad history with the inuit, but that's another story.

With the quote, "Greenllanders can never really trust America again", that states that the US government has mistreated the people of Greenland. I would like to learn the history and details behind this accusation. I just read that during WW2, when Denmark was unpleasantly preoccupied, the US government took (accepted?) protection of Greenland, and I believe we used some of the land for military runways or depots. Were there any bad events during this time?

And the last quote on the X post is silly. "We do not want to be rich like Americans. Look how greedy they are, even..."
The words "rich" and "greedy" seem weird, coming from one who probably has not lived with an average American family.
Maybe "rich" means getting most of your food from a store instead of hunting , killing, and cutting the meat from the bones. Fair enough.
Maybe I am "rich" in that description, but I have killed animals for food, and skinned, cut, and put them in the freezer.

So a "Greenlander VP" has words to say against a union with the US.
Fine. You don't want to join the US. How do you feel about being under the thumb of Denmark?
Do you enjoy being OWNED by Denmark? Why not be your own country and tell Denmark goodbye?!
Then you can make treaties with other countries as you wish.
Make Trump give you a better deal than what Putin offers, and you can decide if you want either deal.

In World War II’s dog-eat-dog struggle for resources, a Greenland mine launched a new world order

On April 9, 1940, Nazi tanks stormed into Denmark. A month later, they blitzed into Belgium, Holland and France. As Americans grew increasingly rattled by the spreading threat, a surprising place became crucial to U.S. national security: the vast, ice-capped island of Greenland.

The island, a colony of Denmark’s at the time, was rich in mineral resources. The Nazi invasions left it and several other European colonies as international orphans.

Greenland was essential for air bases as U.S. planes flew to Europe, and also for strategic minerals. Greenland’s Ivittuut (formerly Ivigtut) mine contained the world’s only reliable supply of the most important material you’ve probably never heard of: cryolite, a frosty white mineral that the U.S. and Canadian industries relied upon to refine bauxite into aluminum, and thus essential to assembling a modern air force.

Gee whiz, we need those hospital ships in America taking care of poor Americans...particularly dental and eye sight.

Here's how the hospital ship controversary started.
