Government, opposition both claim Venezuela election win, official results questioned​

CARACAS, July 29 (Reuters) - President Nicolas Maduro and his opposition rival Edmundo Gonzalez on Monday both claimed victory in Venezuela's presidential election as Washington and other foreign governments cast doubt on official results that kept the incumbent in power.

The national electoral authority said just after midnight that Maduro had won a third term with 51% of the vote - a result that would extend a quarter-century of socialist rule.

But independent exit polls pointed to a big opposition win following enthusiastic shows of support for Gonzalez and opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on the campaign trail.

Venezuela's top court says opposition failed to submit proof in election dispute​

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's supreme court on Saturday said that it had not received evidence from the opposition coalition in the disputed July 28 presidential elections and warned that its decision in determining the winner would be final.

The South American nation's elections authority, which the opposition claims is loyal to President Nicolas Maduro, declared the leader had won re-election, while the opposition argues its candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, won.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's plane seized by US authorities and transported to Fort Lauderdale​

Homeland Security Investigations has confirmed to NBC6 that the plane that has landed at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport belongs to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

This comes just over a month after the disputed election in Venezuela, and the protests that ensued after Maduro declared himself the winner.

According to the Department of Justice, a Dassault Falcon 900EX aircraft owned and operated for the benefit of Maduro and persons affiliated with him in Venezuela was seized in the Dominican Republic and transferred to Fort Lauderdale at the request of the United States based on violations of U.S. export control and sanctions laws.

In the statement, Attorney General Merrick Garland alleges the plane was "illegally purchased for $13 million through a shell company and smuggled out of the United States for use by Nicolás Maduro and his cronies."

Argentine government requests International Criminal Court detain Venezuela's Maduro​

The Argentine government has further escalated its ongoing feud with its Venezuelan counterpart, taking matters from the rhetorical to formal scene after formally requesting President Nicolás Maduro be arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The petition was made through Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, who urged the body, already investigating the regime, to issue "arrest warrants against Venezuelan authorities, including Nicolás Maduro."
The letter claims there is already enough evidence in the ICC's investigation to issue the warrants as the process continues. The investigation was formally opened in late 2021 following the violent episodes in the aftermath of the contested 2017 elections after a formal request by Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Paraguay and Peru.

"We've formally requested the ICC the detention of dictator Maduro," Mondino later said on X.

Venezuelans Have a Right to Regain Their Freedom​

“In a telephone call Friday [September 20] with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Maduro warned about the ‘hiring of mercenaries to invade the country.’” So reported France 24 last month, emphasizing Blackwater founder Erik Prince’s involvement in an online campaign called Ya Casi Venezuela (“We are almost there, Venezuela”), which allegedly aims to raise funds to finance a mercenary force that would enter the country and topple Nicolás Maduro’s socialist regime.

Ya Casi Venezuela’s structure and goals are not yet transparent. Nor is it clear who is behind the campaign. But given Prince’s previous work for the US government, his links to the movement have raised speculation about potential US involvement in the alleged mercenary plan. As per France 24, Washington quickly denied these rumors, especially after the regime’s forces arrested two Americans, among other foreigners, and accused them of plotting to assassinate Maduro.

If i ever became a billionaire, I would offer a 250 k reward for the arrest and conviction of any sitting Congreesman, 500 k for the arrest and conviction of any sitting Senator, and a cool million for a Vice President or President past or present...regardless of party affiliation... I know some of the bastards are guilty of something.

Trump has jumped the shark.

I honestly think the Jab effects, which are often delayed, have started affecting his cerebral functions. He's not the same man he was eight years ago. Just as with others, coming up with late-arriving neurological or cancerous results...he could have late-arriving Brain Fog.

Wonder if he got Boosted. He still won't say the Jabs are anything but "amazing."
