Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi told reporters today that “U.S. forces will be out of Iraq” by September 30 of this year. As of right now, in line with the agreement announced in 2024 by the Higher Coordinating Committee, U.S. forces are largely sequestered to areas within Iraqi Kurdistan region, with the next tranche of withdrawals scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.

We've actually gotten quite a few good rulings in recent years that never would have happened had Trump not gotten those picks, as questionable as at least one of them may be.

Massie as POTUS? He'd get more hamstringing than even Trump has gotten.

He'd become the republican's Carter.

While the idea of a principled Constitutionalist like say, RP, sounds good, but having one principled guy trying to right a ship of fools, would in fact be a fools errand.

He would literally be fought on everything, and by both parties. Ensuring that absolutely nothing gets done, and with the entrenched powers simply waiting him out.

Look, I would love nothing more than a fully Constitutional gov (as in by 1789 standards) but we ain't getting there in one administration. If ever.

All that can be hoped for, is that we get enough of the "better choices" for the next 100 years to maybe, slowly, possibly, slow walk our way back out of the mess the prior generations led us into.

I know, I know. You fell on the floor laughing, right?

Yea, prolly not happening, but if there's even a chance, and we have no way of knowing what the next century will bring, well, gotta at least try.

Do you have long enough to find out "what's after"?

There have been lots of "afters" in American history where in the "before", many questioned if the nation would survive.

Yet here we are still bitchin' about it. Odds are people will still be bitchin' about long after we are gone.

We may never get the 1789 version back, but I don't think America is done quite yet.

Transgender Maine Senate candidate sparks online frenzy over response to debate question: 'Can't be serious'


Social media erupted on Thursday night during a Maine Senate debate to determine who will replace former Democratic nominee Graham Platner after one of the candidates highlighted being a songwriter as a qualification for Senate.

"I ran for office several times, didn't win, but I did run and then, I'm a songwriter and then I write my own books," Senate candidate Ashley Webb said on the debate stage when asked, "What qualifications do you have to serve in the U.S. Senate?"

Webb, who is transgender, continued, "I suppose my transparency, I wouldn't lie to people and I wouldn't deceive the people, like, we're being deceived right now, like we get lied to, smoke and mirrors, like what's going on with ICE."

The moment went viral on social media, with many conservatives mocking Webb’s list of qualifications.

A transgender activist running to replace scandal-plagued Graham Platner once reportedly claimed in a Reddit post that he has a monthly period and that the blood comes through his rectum.

Ashley Webb is one of several Democrat candidates in Maine running to replace Platner, the latter of whom formally suspended his campaign after a rape allegation surfaced. Webb believes the trans community has been dehumanized, contending that he just wants to “use the bathroom.”

“If they want me to use the men’s room, I will but I don’t want to be assaulted,” he said during a recent debate.


“I’m a trans and intersex woman from Farmington, and I’m running the whole campaign myself — candidate and treasurer both, no big donors, no machine behind me,” he appeared to write, asking for signatures from registered Democrats across the state and admitting he is a “long shot in a crowded field.” A similar message was posted on a campaign website.

He appears to have spent a lot of time trying to explain his self-described transgender intersex condition on Reddit forums, explaining that his karyotype is XY, which means that biologically he is a man. However, Webb states he has external male parts but said he is “pretty positive I am the XX type, accept [sic] I got internal organs, unless what I am feeling are tumors that just happen to grow where those sorts of organs are usually.”

He claims to ovulate and get monthly periods despite no evidence of female organs, asserting that his bleeding comes through his anus.

“My testosterone is at 429ng/dl and estrogen is at 285 pg/ml,” he said in one of the forums. “The estrogen is not effecting my male parts. Male parts are normal size. I grew breasts and wider hips during puberty.”

Responding to someone questioning his assertions, Webb claimed he experiences monthly period pain, feeling “some thing [sic] in my right side about where my appendix is located and something above the bladder.”

“When the monthly pain is real bad, I am feeling something in both my right and left side and above my bladder,” he said before revealing where this “period” comes out due to his lack of a “proper hole”:

When you don’t have the proper hole, it finds one of two exits, the guy in China was lucky and the exit was his bladder, me on the other was not so lucky. My exit connection was made with my colon. Cause when I get this monthly pain, that is where the blood comes out of.

Intersex like us don’t get diagnosed till our 20’s as we tend not to be born with extra holes. I didn’t get diagnosed in my 20’s cause I was dealing with incompetent doctors who preferred to prescribe opiate pain killers rather than find the problem.

He said he does not like to talk about the monthly rectal bleeding because doctors have him get colonoscopies, which find nothing. He also said CAT scans cannot locate a uterus or ovaries “when they enter your gender as a male.” :lmao:

Oh? Serious, organized?

Now, of course, I know the Confederate history - it didn't work, either. Have we gotten past the knee-jerk reactions (SLAVE-ERRY!!) and focused on WHY it failed?

First, the South had next to no industry. Its economy was entirely agricultural. Even its banking was dependent on Northern bankers partnering with small Southern banks.

Second, they didn't have the wealth. Even the (relatively) wealthy Planters didn't have the kind of money that emerging industrial cartels had in the North.

Third, the South didn't have any direct access to other nations' assistance. Washington had diplomatic channels. Montgomery would have had to open its own channels - which first would requiring sending envoys out, and even ports and passenger ships (not yet "liners") were scarce down South. What called in Mobile and other ports were basically packet freighters hauling cotton bales away.

No money, smaller population, no industry, no diplomatic contacts. Their attempt was dead in the water at the outset.

Now, today, states that would benefit from Secession are mostly the Tax-Producer states - and air travel and electronic communication could make relations with the rest of the world, fast and easy. The places hard put are the Blue Cities, melting down, dependent on constant food shipments and printing of Washington fiat.

Impure gold in ancient China had consequences. #Gold audits were serious matters.​

The fifth year of Yuanding under Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was the year of the famous “Loss of Marquisates over Sacrificial Gold” (酎金失侯).

Under Han rules, marquises were required each year to present “sacrificial gold” (zhujin), gold used for the imperial ancestral temple rites, as their contribution to the sacrifices.

That same year, Lü Jia, chancellor of the kingdom of Nanyue, rebelled. Emperor Wu launched a military campaign against Nanyue. Bu Shi, chancellor of Qi, volunteered to join the expedition. The emperor was pleased and hoped other marquises would follow his example. Instead, of the hundreds of marquises, almost none stepped forward.

Furious, Emperor Wu ordered a strict inspection of the sacrificial gold the marquises had submitted. On the grounds that the gold was either of insufficient purity or short in weight, he stripped 106 marquises of their titles in one stroke.

Even the sitting chancellor, Zhao Zhou, was implicated, imprisoned, and later took his own life.

This was a deliberate political move by Emperor Wu, following the earlier “Order of Expanding Grace,” to further break the power of the hereditary marquises. It worked. Their influence collapsed sharply after this purge.

The episode is recorded in the Records of the Grand Historian and the Book of Han.

That is a complete deal-breaker.
It is one thing to require communication for authorizing cards. But it's another to tie a product's ID to an online lookup that can change at any time for any reason. Do retailers actually want third parties to hold their inventory hostage?

If the QR code can encode so much data, does this mean that each individual item could be traced to it's original point of sale?
