What needs to be defined, is exactly what constitutes the "press".


I'd say that a good argument could be made that those aren't actually part of the free press.



I'd also add that the Constitution only prohibits CONGRESS from Enacting laws that abridge "freedom.....of the press".

Ie: they (Congress) cannot make laws regulating what can or cannot be published by the press.


"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."


It doesn't say that the press has absolute Right of access to all branches of government. Nor does it say exactly what "freedoms of the press" actually are, if anything beyond the freedom to publish whatever they want.
 
Agreed. The first amendment does not set the right for anyone to witness and document anything, whether public or private.
It sets the right for a free press to publish freely without abridgement.
If some press critters want to dig into non-public matters, they may do so, but they have no rights. They are just wanking on their own time.

Agree also. The right of the press, is the right to publish.

NOT a right of access. The right to publish, would include a slamming condemnation of government officials for refusing to submit to interrogatories.

THAT is their right. To publish. If the People don't GAF, because you've shown yourself to be an agitator, a propagandist, a yellow journalist...that's your loss.

A POLITICO reporter was denied access to the White House Thursday and his press credentials confiscated after a judge ordered the Trump administration overnight to immediately restore access for news organizations that President Donald Trump banned from the complex last week.

I don't recall press conferences in the 1700s. Or 1800s. Or even before WWII.

Yet I'd argue we had a more-perfect republican government, back then. It wasn't a government of the woke, by the connected, for the plutocrats; it was where a haberdasher could become President. Where a man could sit on his front porch, saying nothing, and win the election. Where a third-party candidate could sweep.

All this happened, BTW.

None of it happened with the Wokey Clown Nooze representatives sniping at them during press conferences.

In case folks haven't noticed? It doesn't matter what he does. ANYTHING Trump does is ALWAYS shown in a negative light.

I choose to look past what they want me to believe and that has made all the difference! One has to look further. Think!

Part of that 'thinking' is embedded in the Q posts. One has to be able to entertain differing opinions.

Most folks don't know how to think. They just regurgitate. The public fool system has put their brains asleep. Show them and they refuse to see.

I know highly educated people, PhD's who only know 'peer review' nonsense! It's not worth the effort to enlighten them. They're liberals!

"You can't confuse them with facts when their mind is made up." is a popular saying I use because it's true!

It's like sailing. You tack left, you tack right, and all the while you are going in a forward direction to the destination.
