How long will it last?

I have the same view on Russia. Both places now look like islands of sanity and economic promise; but neither has a long tradition of either responsible government or free markets.

I am really wondering what happens in the next election there. Does Milei win reelection? Does he get more support in their legislature? Does he spawn a political movement that outlasts his time in office?

US Treasury chief: US ready to support Argentina, leaders to meet Tuesday

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday said "all options for stabilization are on the table" to support Argentina, with more details available after Argentine President Javier Milei and U.S. President Donald Trump meet on Tuesday.

"These options may include, but are not limited to, swap lines, direct currency purchases, and purchases of U.S. dollar-denominated government debt from Treasury’s Exchange Stabilization Fund," Bessent wrote on X.

Just thinking out loud...but I wonder if this is a Davos- or Soros-engineered staged-crisis.

Soros, remember, made most of his money shorting and crashing the Pound Sterling. As Saul Alinsky taught them...when a tactic works, stick with it.

The vid above talks about farmers. What about the American people in general? Where's our help?

DYODD here.

The U.S. helped Argentina, then Argentine farmers made a deal with China

The Trump administration threw Argentina a financial life raft this week, and Argentina promptly responded by offering China an enticement in the form of untaxed soybeans.

Why it matters: It's a harsh blow to already struggling U.S. soybean farmers, and illustrates the complex implications of rescuing a close ally.

Driving the news: On Monday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced concepts for broad financial support to stabilize Argentina's economy, including potential loans, currency purchases and debt buying. Argentina's currency, the peso, rallied on the news.

I'd love to know how it happened, the sudden crisis.

Not the Globalist Narrative; but someone parsing the whole situation. Whether all the reports three months ago, was just hype, or what.

NOTE: Not criticizing any poster. Not even the use of sources. It's just that some sources I don't trust; I don't think we CAN trust.

I want $20b too, but my hair is not as crazy.
