ChatGPT won't be responding to posts in the ChatGPT Playpen until I add a few bucks to the forum's OpenAI account. It seems that we finally used up the $5 I put in there initially. I'm going to have to figure out how to find and log in to that portal again. :paperbag:

I should take care of that right now, but I've got a slew of more important things on my plate at the moment so it is going to have to wait a bit. The forum's annual server hosting bill is also coming due in early July and we're short of the mark presently.

I topped up the ChatGPT account with $10. The ChatGPT Playpen should work again now.

The way OpenAI pricing works for the ChatGPT API is that the $10 in the account pays for 20M "tokens" . Tokens are like text characters. Every time data is sent from the forum to OpenAI in a ChatGPT request and every time data is sent back from OpenAI in a ChatGPT answer, every chatacter send and received is a token. When responding to ChatGPT in a thread in the playpen, you must quote part of a previous response to get ChatGPT to answer any new prompts, but you do not need to quote the entire previous ChatGPT post. You only need to quote a word or two. ChatGPT remembers the previous conversation as each thread is attached to a session ID. By editing your replies to quote just a word or two, you save a lot of tokens and make the OpenAI budget last a lot longer.

When quoting ChatGPT, just highlight everything but a few words and delete. It's that simple.
