As I've posted on other sites, I find the holiday season the best time to be scoping out Reject Bins.
TODAY: 11/9/2022 - Got a text to bring home milk from my errands so I ran by the closest Kroger I was close to. Walked into the breeze way where the SELL YOUR OLD CELL PHONE machine, Big Freezers of Ice, Bascarts, and of course the CoinStar machine sits.
Right away I noticed the bin was about to over flow. Evidently a Dump and Dasher, even a Newbie should have heard all that metal falling.
I started scooping, and the coins kept coming. Like a one-armed bandit "HIT" at a casino. I kept scooping other coins took their place. I scooped out five times before the bin was bare.
$5.24 plus 5 coppers ( No Silver - Damn !)
Tell you stories here. Holiday Season is my best season scoring, YMMV

Penny score today at a CoinStar. 19pennies = 12 coppers, 3-82s ( I kick back into circulation for rookies) and 4 shield/clads.
Better than hitting all dry holes in my book.

HIT Today, 12-10-22, Christmas comes early and sometimes often.
31 Pennies , 1 Dime ( Rosey) a '63.
17 of the pennies were Coppers. The rest goes towards buys and sales taxes.
Merry Christmas spy those reject bins.

Found exactly $1.00 in change, but there was no silver in the bunch. I'll put that towards acquiring my 19th Merc dime (goal is to get to 50 and fill up a roll someday).

Found a Merc dime in the Coinstar. I can't tell you how excited I was as it goes toward my previously mentioned goal of a full roll.
