US biofuel, farmer groups celebrate passing of Trump's budget bill​

Agriculture and biofuel associations uniformly voiced support for the new US budget for extending incentives on crop-based biofuels and excluding foreign feedstocks from tax breaks after it was passed by the Senate on July 3.

The budget, which is popularly known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill," is expected to be signed into effect by US President Donald Trump on July 4.

Stock futures fall to start the week after White House says tariffs will go into effect on Aug. 1: Live updates​

Stock futures fell Monday after the U.S. said that tariffs are set to go into effect Aug. 1, not July 9.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slid by 53 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq-100 futures dipped 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively.

In an interview with reporters Sunday, President Donald Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were asked to clarify when tariffs are set to go into effect. In response, Lutnick said, “Tariffs go into effect Aug. 1. But the president is setting the rates, and the deals, right now.” Trump nodded in approval.

S&P 500 flat after Trump announces high tariffs on a group of nations: Live updates​

Stock futures were flat early Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced new duties on 14 countries, and extended the “reciprocal” tariff deadline to Aug. 1.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures declined by 5 points, or 0.01%. S&P 500 futures ticked up 0.08%, and Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.21%.

Those moves come after Trump posted more letters late Monday afternoon that brought the total number of countries facing steep tariffs on Aug. 1 to 14. Together, the countries hit by new duties are Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand and Tunisia.
