How the Roberts Court became the Trump Court​

Chief Justice John Roberts’ 20 years on the Supreme Court have been punctuated by a series of vivid episodes, from his confirmation hearings as he vowed merely to call “balls and strikes,” to his dramatic switched vote to preserve the Affordable Care Act, to his weeks presiding over the televised impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

But the moment most central to Roberts’ legacy occurred in the courtroom shielded from cameras on July 1, 2024.

Seated at the center of the elevated bench, Roberts declared the American president immune from criminal prosecution. It was a milestone decision providing new power for all presidents and, at the time, possibly changing the course of a presidential election.

‘Mount Rushmore’ of Trump, Putin, Kim Jong un and Xi Jinping unveiled​

A new monument depicting a “Mount Rushmore” of world leaders—Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping—has been unveiled.

Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment via email.

The satirical display equates Trump with authoritarian leaders such as Putin, Xi, and Kim, a comparison that reflects ongoing global debates over his political style and rhetoric.

By borrowing the imagery of Mount Rushmore—a monument celebrating U.S. democracy—the installation highlights anxieties about whether Trump belongs among strongmen rather than statesmen.

That it was Krugman called upon to write the Party Daily Narrative, today, is fitting. It's in keeping with Krugman's track record.

The Sophists were a group, school, sort of...of Greek intellectuals, who enjoyed working an argument to where the facts, in discussion points, indicated/proved the opposite of what they obviously did prove. A Sophist would have liked proving that Jesus was the Antichrist.

It's literally turning an argument on its head.

So many people have lost the ability to critically think; to analyze. The neurotoxic Jab; the mainstreaming of POT; smartphones; the insanity taught in publick skeulz...all add to this.

So the Deep State can pay (now, promise to pay) the Mockingbird MeⒹia to run crap like this. As sophistry, generally isn't very good. But given the dumbed-down sheeple, it need not be.

Do not confuse what someone is SAYING someone ordered, with what was in fact ordered.

I'm dead-solid certain they considered that factor. Many critical personnel may be using video links to participate.

He was joined by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who declared an end to “woke” culture and announced new directives for troops that include “gender-neutral” or “male-level” standards for physical fitness.

It's dangerous to Constitutional government; but it's also true, necessary, and the result of Soros prosecutors and Woke city governments.

It is a rare opportunity for the troops to learn urban-warfare conditions. And it MUST be DONE. The new Globalist Leftists have completely destroyed order and Rule of Law in the urban zones they control.

This is the end result. You drop a rock off a bridge, it will eventually hit something below. You take basically law-abiding people STOP prosecuting criminals, prosecute POLICE, and import huge quantities of aliens from the Third World, you wind up with lawless chaos.

Which has to be dealt with, before it destroys the cities, all law and order.

It's going to be hard to clean up government, when SO MANY people within are damaged from the brain-worm of Woke-Leftism.

Autopen filled the military with demented queer SJWs. Now Hegseth is telling them to straighten up and fly right.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s convocation of hundreds of generals and admirals today turned out to be, in the main, a nothingburger. Hegseth strutted and paced and lectured and hectored, warning the officers that he was tired of seeing fat people in the halls of the Pentagon and promising to take the men who have medical or religious exemptions from shaving—read: mostly Black men—and kick them out of the military. He assured them that the “woke” Department of Defense was now a robust and manly Department of War, and that they would no longer have to worry about people “smearing” them as “toxic” leaders. (Hegseth went on a tirade about the word toxic itself, noting that if a commitment to high standards made him “toxic,” then “so be it.”)

All in all, an utterly embarrassing address. But that wasn’t the worst of it. The assembled military leaders likely already knew that Hegseth is unqualified for his job, and they could mostly tune out the sloganeering that Hegseth, a former TV host, was probably aiming more at Fox News and the White House than at the military itself. What they could not ignore, however, was the spectacle that President Donald Trump put on when he spoke after Hegseth.

Pope makes rare comments on U.S. politics, military gathering​

ROME — Making a rare foray into U.S. politics, Pope Leo XIV described the blustery talk by President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at a meeting of military commanders on Tuesday as “concerning,” and he called out those who describe themselves as “pro-life” for opposing abortion but do not reject the “inhuman treatment” of migrants and the death penalty.

Since becoming pope, Leo has largely kept his distance from the news media. But in an unusual interaction late Tuesday outside his Castel Gandolfo residence in Italy, the pontiff fielded several questions from reporters, including one about the extraordinary, hastily convened meeting of senior military leaders in the United States that day, at which Trump and Hegseth gave highly partisan speeches. Leo shook his head in apparent distaste.

Woman’s self-penned obituary goes viral: ‘I died of FOMO’​

A Massachusetts writer who battled ALS left her loved ones a final story: A tongue-in-cheek, self-penned obituary that has won legions of fans online.

“Well, if you are reading this obituary, it looks like I’m dead,” Linda Brossi Murphy wrote. “WOW, it actually happened… I died of FOMO due to complications of Bulbar ALS.”

Murphy, a Framingham native, died September 21 at the age of 60, which she noted was “way too young!”. She died after a three-year struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
