Sunday Musings from a Church Parking Lot​

We take a break from our normal coverage to bring you the first of an ongoing series, “Sunday Musings from a Church Parking Lot.”

Just for the record, I was paying full-attention during Sunday services. It’s just with the limited access from the parking lot to the street, traffic moves at the same speed as the 101 in Phoenix during rush hour. While I’m stuck there, I like to put my new-found state of grace to better uses than condemning my fellow Christians to the Eternal Fire for their poor driving habits.

Trump said he wants more Nordic immigrants—Norwegian man's reply goes viral​

A Norwegian man has gone viral for his response to calls for Nordic people to immigrate to the United States.

Vocalist Chris Lund, 43, is from Norway, and recently heard President Donald Trump‘s pleas for more Scandinavian immigrants to move to the States.

On December 9, Trump spoke at a rally in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, where he complained about immigration and asked why more people from Nordic countries weren’t coming to the United States.

Rats successfully trained to shoot demons in “Doom”​

In 2020, Hungarian software engineer and neuroscientist Viktor Tóth came up with a fascinating experiment. With the use of a bootstrap experimental setup consisting of a large polystyrene ball, a curved computer monitor, and a small straw that dispenses sugar water, Tóth managed to teach a rat how to play the classic 1994 video game Doom II.

The rat’s movements translated into rotations of the ball, which were then translated into movement inside the iconic first-person shooter. The sugar water served as a treat whenever the rat completed a milestone, like walking down a corridor.

Trump aide’s wife trolls Denmark with picture of US-flagged Greenland​

Denmark has warned the US to respect its territory after the wife of a Trump official suggested on social media that Greenland would become American soil in the near future.

Katie Miller, who is married to President Trump’s deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, posted an image on X of a map of Greenland coloured to resemble the US flag. The picture was captioned “SOON”.

How about, we throw out the ones we GOT.

We don't need moar people. We need more NATIVE...people, no matter the skin-hue, so long as they're imbued with a Work Ethic. Today's Nordic types are just as sluggardly, from three generations of the Welfare State and from government indoctrination, as the other types.

I don't know about you - but I LIKE wide-open spaces, small towns, vast wilderness and freeways not clogged with idiots who cannot spreak Engrish.

Not crazy at all. Entirely predictable.

The Party of Woke is gonna do a full-board steal-sweep; and Never-Ending Impeachment is gonna launch. This time, it'll work. Why? Because the apolitical economic-illiterates are feeling pain. Few of them understand that what's happening now, is the result of what was done years ago. Money-printing is a great economic "stimulus" - until the new fiat percolates down into the soil of the economy. Then it creates pricing havoc and destroys the value of earned and saved currency.

We know this is gonna happen, because - this is important - NOBODY HAS BEEN JAILED FOR THE LAST TIME THEY DID IT.

Trump is gonna be blamed for the results of all those Magic Money Machines that brought half of Somalia and a tenth of India into this country. Of course his GENIUS Act and Big Budget Bust stuff didn't help, either...but if it had only been Trump's doing, we wouldn't even have noticed it, yet.

So. The Circle-D dumbos will sweep, and we'll resume Drag Queen Story Hour, Open Borders, and FEMA going to toxic-waste accidents in Red States, working to make it all ten-times worse.
 

Jury selection begins in trial for ex-officer accused in police response to Uvalde school shooting​

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — A former school police officer in Uvalde, Texas, who was part of the slow law enforcement response to one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history went on trial Monday on charges that he failed to protect children from the gunman.

Adrian Gonzales, one of the first officers to respond to the 2022 attack, is charged with 29 counts of child abandonment or endangerment in a rare prosecution of an officer accused of not doing more to save lives. Authorities waited more than an hour to confront the teenage shooter who killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary.

If there was one thing the experts agreed on, it was that an American did not have a chance. Given the US superpower status, it was assumed that the conclave – the gathering of scarlet-clad cardinals – would not want to extend its influence still further by choosing an American pope.

Yet the conclave did precisely that, selecting the Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Prevost – now Pope Leo XIV. As for American hegemony, there is no sense that Leo is in the pocket of Donald Trump. Quite the reverse. Despite conservative American Catholics believing one of their own would mark a step change from the radical Latin American Pope Francis, Leo has continued the papal warnings about climate change, shown empathy for the poorest in the world, and renewed calls for peace.
