Retired general reacts to Army secy. Driscoll resigning

Sep 1, 2026 #military #trump #news
Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has submitted his resignation to President Donald Trump, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
One source said the decision was unsurprising given tension between Driscoll and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
A second source familiar said that in his resignation, Driscoll “brought up concerns with the administration surrounding Army transformation and readiness and Hegseth’s blocking those efforts specifically by firing the generals who were responsible.”

The public sphere devolves into absolute chaos.

Which, for those who may have forgotten...is exactly how the totalitarians, particularly Marxists, seize power.

Stand by to stand by. Trump, as it turns out, was not a patriot or savior at all. Wittingly or not, he's turned out to be the traitors' Change Agent.

The host interviews Michael Yon from Japan as he prepares for his baby’s imminent birth, briefly discussing Japanese traditions around the kiri (paulownia) tree, then shifts to geopolitics and Yon’s view of a global “great game” centered on routes, resources, and information warfare. Yon says the Strait of Hormuz is effectively closed and argues conflicts are interconnected, predicting flashpoints including the Falklands/Malvinas involving Argentina, possible spillover into Brazil and Uruguay, and wider fighting affecting Europe and the North Sea. He emphasizes hydraulic warfare, describing how dams on the Nile (GERD in Ethiopia), Euphrates (Atatürk Dam), Tigris (Mosul Dam), and China’s Three Gorges could be used for famine and destruction. He also discusses Tibet/Nepal flood events, chokepoints like Suez, Gibraltar/Ceuta, Bab-el-Mandeb, Panama, and Malacca, plus language, migration, intoxicants, music, demographic, and economic warfare.

I would like my food products to be labeled correctly.
Maybe I will be okay with beef chunks from Argentina, but I want to know.
For now, it looks like less than one pound per person, so it goes into the stew pot. No objections.
In the meantime, ribeye prices over $15 (and up to $19) are on my mind.

Did I hear the American beef producers apologizing for the high prices? Sorry, I must have missed their apology. Or their clear and specific arithmetic about why beef prices need to be twice NO! Three times what they were recently.

When I was younger, the good (sale) price for ground beef was ONE DOLLAR a pound.

Maybe the beef producers have higher costs. Okay. Let them show their costs.
And why does ground beef go for five dollars a pound today?
I am not shooting anyone, but I want answers.

On this Labor Day, Trump offers no sympathy to working Americans

A Truth Social post in which President Donald Trump declared that there are "too many non-working holidays in America” and demanded that “it must change,” went viral on X this week, with analysts — incorrectly — labeling the post Trump’s 2026 “Labor Day message” to Americans.

The post was actually written on June 19, 2025, more than a year earlier, yet its content and the economic conditions it describes have changed little enough in the interim that the mis-dating is almost irrelevant.

How Donald Trump broke the banks

Here’s some bad news for anyone who wants a sane and functional banking system. The second Trump administration is hard at work destroying every vestige of financial regulation in the United States. A meticulously built oversight infrastructure is facing an accelerated teardown after years of willful neglect.

It’s hardly news that Donald Trump has made it easier than ever to be a plunderer. This is a Golden Age for white-collar criminals at home and kleptocrats abroad. Moreover, Trump isn’t solely to blame for the sorry state of affairs. Still, it wasn’t always this way. When New Deal–era banking regulations were firmly in place, financial crises were far and few between; when such crises emerged, they were relatively contained. But the steady erosion of financial-sector guardrails since the start of the neoliberal era has coincided with more frequent and explosive meltdowns. Today, the White House is speed-running the obliteration of remaining safeguards, just as AI, crypto, and fossil fuel–related crises threaten to upend the global economy. Buckle up: It’s going to get bumpy.

Election Bomb in Germany Ends Ukraine War — Carney's EU Dream Is Dead

A Saxony-Anhalt provincial election saw Germany’s nationalist AfD win 43.8% to the next party’s 17.2%, prompting alarm in the British press and among EU-linked elites because the AfD campaign pledged to end open borders and halt German funding for the Ukraine war. The script argues the surge reflects a broader European revolt driven largely by economics: China’s industrial strategy and competition are squeezing Germany’s Mittelstand, with the Wall Street Journal cited on job losses and a shift toward importing more advanced machinery from China, while green policies, nuclear shutdowns, and the ban on cheap Russian energy have pushed prices 40–50% higher and cut energy-intensive production by 15%. It links Germany’s downturn to EU war-mobilization plans, casts doubt on Mark Carney’s planned EU-Canada alignment, and contrasts that with Trump-era peace efforts, including a Trump-Putin call, corruption probes in Ukraine, and U.S. officials downplaying inflation impacts from Canada’s tariffs.

Stephen Miller, through the memories of his Duke classmates

This story was originally published in the Duke University student publication The Duke Chronicle. Seyun Park is the winner of the Rolling Stone College Journalism Award in the Feature Writing Category.

"Hi, I'm Stephen Miller. I'm from Santa Monica, California, and I like guns."

According to those who met him during freshman orientation, that is how Stephen Miller, Trinity ‘07, made his first introduction at Duke. Miller quickly earned the nickname "Guns," and his penchant for attracting attention would continue over his Duke career and beyond.

Miller, currently President Donald Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, first made headlines in his rise to power as a speechwriter for the president in 2017. In the following decade, Miller's power and position have only grown, and he now advises Trump on matters ranging from immigration and homeland security to foreign policy and education.

Crime analyst who purposely bungled DNA evidence learns her fate

A Colorado forensics analyst has learned her fate after she purposely mishandled thousands of pieces of DNA evidence for murder and sexual assault cases.

Yvonne 'Missy' Woods, a former Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) DNA analyst, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday.

Woods, 66, previously pleaded guilty to four charges: cybercrime, perjury, forgery and attempting to influence a public servant.

She accepted a plea deal in June, and although prosecutors agreed on eight to 16 years behind bars for her, Woods was handed more time, CBS News reported.

Her attorneys sought a minimum of eight years in prison, arguing that Woods took responsibility for her crimes and cooperated with investigators.

Lies, Chaos, and 9/11

Sep 11, 2026 Doug Casey's Take
Doug and Matt reflect on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, arguing the official narrative remains unconvincing, citing unresolved issues like Building 7 and the lack of thorough investigation, and linking this to widespread public distrust in government. They discuss escalating Middle East conflict, including Houthi territorial gains in Yemen, threats to shipping near Bab-el-Mandeb, attacks on Saudi infrastructure, and U.S. strikes on Iranian-linked tankers, while noting oil prices and market fragility amid potential rate hikes; Doug discloses he has shorted Nasdaq. They compare alleged state cover-ups to the Charlie Kirk assassination and other disputed events, then address viewer questions on AI-driven job losses, potential debt defaults, protecting oneself via assets and residency abroad, central bank gold moves (including Argentina shipping gold to London), meetups and conferences, precious-metal storage jurisdictions, and Doug’s negative view of Nike as an investment.
