Not a mentally well man: Experts analyze uncensored Trump interview | Opinion

If you claim to love or otherwise care about the health and future of the United States, you have a civic and moral obligation to read President Trump’s full 75-minute, 11,000-word interview with Time magazine journalists Eric Cortellessa and Sam Jacobs, published last Thursday.

Do not rely on a summary, something paraphrased or translated by the media — or even the account of a trusted journalist or other public voice.

Do not assume that you have heard this all before. “What is new about this? I know exactly what Trump is going to say because I have been hearing it for years….” is neither adequate nor reasonable.

Lifted from a comment on moon of Alabama -

Both bubonic and Pneumonic plague are caused by the same bacteria and both are treatable by common anti-biotics. The bacteria is hosted by rodents and is everywhere. tens of thousands of people worldwide are treated for plague every year including in the USA and Europe. Pneumonic plague is more contagious to humans and deadlier but not as common as bubonic plague.

My eldest daughter is a nurse in a Russian hospital in Siberia. They have lockdown and quarantine procedures for patients reporting with plague symptoms. Hunters are the prime source of infections as the bacteria is endemic throughout Siberia. Whilst cases aren’t common, they occur every year and what the West are calling drastic actions are normal preventative measures by Russian authorities.

Is This World War III?

Oct 7, 2026 Doug Casey's Take
After a brief hiatus, Doug and Matt discuss Trump’s escalating rhetoric about Iran potentially nuking U.S. cities and argue the U.S. bears historical responsibility for the conflict, citing oil interests, the CIA-backed coup against Mossadegh, the Shah, and the 1979–1980 embassy crisis. Doug says Trump’s actions have worsened the situation, advocates a public apology and possible indemnity to de-escalate, and predicts Trump will not complete his term due to impeachment, the 25th Amendment, assassination, or broader instability. They debate nuclear delivery realities, warn that antagonizing adversaries invites catastrophe, and frame current conflicts—Middle East shipping chokepoints, Houthi-Saudi fighting, and Russia-Ukraine maritime attacks—as kindling for World War III. They also cover French unrest, demographic and religious shifts, bond-market stress, a potential tech-bubble burst, and conclude by favoring energy and mining stocks.
