Well, those American sanctions have caused a lot of poverty in Cuba now, and the upper 1% were really wealthy while most lived in abject misery.
I do hope the people in Cuba can figure out a new democracy.

Were they, really? I don't have the stats in front of me...but my general observations of People's Revolutions for Collectivism, tells me that the real suffering, the dependence on the USSR, fer-chrissake...didn't start until Castro started "fixing" the economy.

Don't confuse actual suffering, with uncontrolled (and often ginned-up) envy.

When we have Nordic people, in a Nordic-sized population, we can have Nordic socialism.

But...people are NOT fungible. We don't have the Nordic people. We have the Anglo-Saxons and the Germanics and the Franc and Romans and Slavs. Plus...tens of millions of Mud People.

Socialism doesn't work for them. As for the Mud People...nothing works for them except cages and chains.

Excuses excuses, just get the programs going and it all falls into place. And start by cutting all foreign aid first...

Nope, not excuses. Observations.

You can't get Caucasians to live like Asians (meaning, Chinese and Japanese). They go crazy. Both the density and the regimentation.

You can't get blacks to live like whites - the need for complex strategic planning, just to LIVE by managing resources, plus the need for impulse control.

And you cannot get Sicilians to live like Nordics. Hell, you cannot even get the French Canadians to live like Nordics. Socialist structure in medicine, which probably works okay in Scandinavia, is NOT working in Ontario or Quebec.
