Ex-CIA official arrested after $40M in gold bars allegedly found inside his home​

A former CIA official was arrested last week after FBI agents allegedly found $40 million worth of gold bars at his home while investigating whether he lied about his educational and military background, according to court records and sources familiar with the matter.

David Rush is currently being held in jail while both his defense attorneys and federal prosecutors "gather and evaluate additional information" to assist the court in determining whether he should remain detained, court filings say. They have jointly requested to postpone his detention hearing until June 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Yeah, this guy is probably a fall-guy, maybe a stooge or patsy. Maybe he's the brain; probably not.

It's on the down-low because there's almost-certainly SO MUCH culpability around...

Carrying gold across borders and check points is, to put it mildly, an iffy proposition.

Odds are he'd make it across. But the gold would be in someone else's satchel.
 
As well...here, as in few other places, gold really expands your horizons. Or, anyway, money does.

You got Bill Gates' billions...you can get Bill Gates' prepubescent dates in an island paradise built for those who have Bill-Gates-sized budgets.

You can be caught red-handed with a CIA setup pedophile, as Howard Lutnik was. Show me da money, boy...and den you kin walk.

Not so much, say, in Jebel Ali.

I might add...the price of admission is so much less, here. His haul would have made government officials in the Cayman Islands, LAUGH. He'd not have gotten a balcony seat in Davos. But, here?

and what about bitcoin isn't being used to move it offshore?

Agree, but other than the posts above I haven't heard any more about it. Eventually some good stuff will come out and I'll bet it'll be a very neat story.

I'll tell you right now it was a woman who snitched him. Its always a woman, 34 years of Police work taught me that. They turn on you like a vengeful dragon every time. Want my advice ? If you ever find $40 m in gold bars then tell nobody. I dont know how you would fence such a pile of gold but tell nobody, a woman most of all. Even a wife most of all. They wont understand the trouble fencing such a find and will think your holding out on them; That, Or they will find out about the other females your banging.

Either way it will always be the girlfriend or wife who turns you in. Man all the domestics Ive been to where the old Lady blurts out either, "He has an oz of cocaine" or "He has a Gat with a full auto switch". Firstly I dont give a shit if he has either. Secondly the broad with the big mouth just gave me about 8 hours of work I didn't want and will blow the date "I" had set up with a different girl.
