Oh, search. Heh, I have problems with his methods also but I've discussed it with him on GIM and let it go. Zeds a little moar cranky than I am but he's an excellent markets-savvy poster.

I know hes on gim3, GH, but he needs to come back here.

I think you need to know how to take him.

He puts up stuff for examination and commentary - not because he believes in it. It's worthwhile, in a way - in that it encourages discussion of various topics, even if the link/essay/video is obvious Leftist scat.

Took me awhile to adjust my own attitude, but I think someone who contributes, even if not on our page, is worth...toleration and encouragement.

Plus, I often have my own stories about the topic or related. Keeps the discussion flowing...

We all have free will...

His reasons are true to him.

Like, "Maybe Hitler was right?"
That is sure to involve discussion...

thx i didnt know that.... what was his screen name if you dont mind sharing
In the video, he says he was chased away,,, I guess because he’s kind of extremist in his views about silver and not liking gold. He didn’t mention his username. Was there somebody named Silver Shield?

i didnt hear that in the video but i was listening at 2x and catching concepts not details ... it does seem like there was a Silver Shield ...but there were a lot of SilverXXXs

i did go back and play the video at normal speed while doing something else and about the 24min mark he mentions GIM2 and some friction, but there was always spirited debates that many people couldn't handle im guessing he was one of those, you had to have thick skin in those days

FWIW

Grok:

Yes, Chris Duane, known as "Silver Shield," was a member of the Gold Is Money Forum (now Gold Is Money 2). He actively participated around 2011–2012, sharing content like his article "30 Reasons to Get Out of Real Estate and Into Real Assets," which was posted as a thread on the forum. He was also featured in discussions there, such as interviews on George Noory's show and with Steve Quayle, where forum members praised his insights on precious metals and economics. While his username isn't explicitly "Silver Shield" in the visible posts, it's his recognized alias in the community, and no other individual by that name appears in forum records. He later focused on his own Silver Shield Group forum but remained connected to Gold Is Money through cross-posts and shared interests.

Decided to have some fun with Grok so I asked it about me. Made me laugh. If interested here's a link to what it had to say about searcher (lmao.)

The link works: https://x.com/i/grok/share/i28e8WhmJYAhc5PoLZzsV6IAX

If any of you want a laugh I suggest you give it a shot. Ask grok is there was someone who goes by your user name on the Gold Is Money Forum. Might be fun to read the reply.

How does GROK know that?

The GIM2 forum was offline prior to GROK being launched.
....and the GIM2 link you posted doesn't work. It goes to the "bad link" page on the new GIM2 retirement page.

On an aside, I kinda want to go the Contact us" page on there and ask, "Scorp, is that you?" Lol

Grok:

The current spot price of gold (often abbreviated as "GOL" in some trading contexts) is $4,243.66 USD per troy ounce as of November 13, 2025, at 09:00 AM ET. This price fluctuates constantly based on market conditions, supply/demand, and global events. For reference:
UnitPrice (USD)
Per troy ounce$4,243.66
Per gram$136.44
Per kilogram$136,436.84
Prices may vary slightly by dealer or location due to premiums, but the spot price serves as the benchmark. If you meant a different "GOL" (e.g., a stock ticker or cryptocurrency), provide more details for a tailored response.
