Alternate history where James Franco goes back in time to save JFK from assassination. Based on a Stephen King novel. His co-star is a beautiful drop dead gorgeous blonde.

If you enjoyed Yellowstone you'll probably like Dutton Ranch. Watched the first 2 episodes last night. On Paramount.

There is very little decent TV at this point. I would guess 80% or more of what I watch is YouTube content. I've watched all of the above mentioned shows and they were at least decent. No way would I ever pirate anything did that a few years ago not worth the risk.

A few shows that I thought were worth the watch:

Shogun (2024 version based upon James Clavell's book) - improved understanding of Japanese political story; better development of Japanese characters; less focus on Blackthorne's culture shock - available on Hulu I think.

Physical 100 (2 seasons) - Korean reality competition for strength and athletic performance - I watched it dubbed in English (rather than Korean with subtitles) - the dubbing is funny, but the show is actually compelling as the challenges and the struggles the contestants faced were fascinating - available on Netflix

Culinary Class Wars (2 seasons) - Korean cooking competition - As an American, I found some of the ingredients and dishes the chefs made foreign, but as a fan of cooking competition shows, I enjoyed it anyway. - available on Netflix

Chef and My Fridge (4 seasons) - Korean cooking show that they call a variety show. This one took me a while to understand what is happening. I watched in Korean with subtitles and the subtitles appear on the screen in random places. It took me a while to get the hang of it. The format of the show follows a loose structure, but like the old Japanese show Tageshi's Castle, the rules are loose, can change at the whim of the hosts and they kind of go with the flow. There are two hosts who provide color commentary, two celebrity guests and eight renowned chefs* that sit at a table. The hosts will introduce the guests and then present the contents of the guests' refrigerators (which have been packed from the guests' homes and delivered to the show's studio) while probing the guests tastes in cuisine and dietary habits. The guests will issue two challenges. Two chefs will volunteer to compete one on one for each challenge. The chefs then have 15 minutes to prepare a dish or multiple dishes using the ingredients found in the guests' fridges. The guest whose challenge is the focus of the battle will taste the dishes and choose the winner of the battle. The winning chef wins a gold star for his/her uniform for the rest of the season. That's the structure, but in reality the show borders on chaos as everyone is bantering throughout the process - the chefs are constantly cracking on each other and the hosts are merciless at pointing out any mistakes that occur. Once you learn the chef's personalities, it is really hilarious. - available on Netflix

* 7 renowned chefs and one "webtoon artist" (think comic book creator) who is there for the comedy I guess, but he's actually a mad culinary genius at times

Shogun was good but I didn't like the Caucasian male lead much at all. I sub some services for as long as it takes to watch a series. Apple has some decent stuff. Slow Horses is good. Sugar and Bad Monkey.

If you guys like Shogun you would probably enjoy reading Tai-Pan. I thought the book was great, the movie was good.
