Thank goodness I'm a Vet. The care has been good to excellent. I've had surgery (prostate) and have a hyper thyroid condition and type 2 diabetes.
I have no need to go outside the VA for care but can if needed. I only carry Medicare type "B" in case I need it one day and I get a partial refund every month from a program called Medicare giveback, because I don't use it.
