Caching your Guns for a Civil War

Many people are talking about the possibility of a civil war. Some people are acting as if one is going to happen. The intersection between those sets is almost zero.

Nine years ago, I bought a lake home in nowhere WI. It came with a nonfunctional chest freezer in the garage. We cleaned it all up and thought about maybe fixing it. Did you know it can be buried with grass or flowers placed on top and keep firearms safe and clean? It can also be locked and buried or used for other prep type things. It can even be modified to an upright gun safe. Some ideas.

A buried chest freezer acts nicely as a root cellar for food storage. Just need a bit of ventilation.

Won't the neighbors wonder why yer burying a freezer in yer back yard?
Neighbors? Who gots neighbors?
Me.
Our neighbors are seldom here and we are building a garage this summer. Plenty of digging is a distraction.

Thinking outside the box, as it were...is good.

But that's not the way. You need AIR CIRCULATION.

Air that's 30-percent humid - very dry in Wisconsin, especially near a lake - 30-percent at an ambient temperature of 72, will be near 100-percent saturated when the ground freezes.

Moreover. That box isn't intended to be watertight. It may (MAY!) hold out water for a time, but when groundwater seeps in, and condensation does its work...and you dig out your cache...you'll have rusty scrap.

FWIW. DYODD.

Make sure you use a protected plant species. That way it will be illegal for anybody to dig them up. This also works for the bodies of trespassers.

What happens when Rule of Law breaks down? The Grate Taking. You'll own nothing, citizen - thank us!

These are fine rules when you have a Warren-Buffet empire. Maybe valuable if you dare become a small-scale landlord...something quite possible 50 years ago, but now, a low-return, high-risk folly.

This Is How Real Estate Investors Hide Ownership From Public Record

Jul 5, 2025 #AssetProtection #Assets #TobyMathis
This is how real estate investors hide their rental property from public record and creditors.
In this video, I’m breaking down how to legally and effectively remove your name from property records—no matter what state you’re in.
While many people assume their name has to be tied to the real estate they own, that simply isn’t true. And if privacy matters to you (and it should), this is a game changer.
🔒 Whether you’re protecting yourself from stalkers, disgruntled tenants, or frivolous lawsuits, keeping your name off public records is one of the smartest moves you can make. Celebrities, law enforcement, and high-net-worth individuals already do this—now you can too.
By using the right structure, you can keep your home address private, shield your assets, and avoid becoming an easy target.
Let me show you how to take the target off your back and stay in control—quietly.

Here's a thought:

What happens if the zombies run apeschitt and start burning houses DOWN? How do you protect yourself that way?

Even when law and order prevails, a lot of the low-wattage types have self-control issues. They may not know where you have your stuff; they may even have thought they got it all.

They still burn and destroy for the pure satanic joy of it.

5 Financial Secrets YOU SHOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE

Jun 5, 2026 #MoneyTips #WealthProtection #FinancialSecrets
In this video, Toby Mathis reveals 5 financial secrets you should never share, explaining how seemingly harmless information can lead to lawsuits, scams, damaged relationships, lost opportunities, and financial setbacks.

So, without watching a half hour video for five secrets you shouldn't tell, what are they?
I mean, in text, it would be somethin like —
  1. Never flaunt wealth
  2. don't wear jewelry
  3. Keep yer mouth shut
  4. never tell your mom what you own
  5. don't trust banks
See, easy peasy, no need to create a half hour video except to generate a U-Toob click payout.
Hummmm — now that I think about it I wonder if that is why I see so many (usless) videos posted here.

Burglars don't look for signs people are secretly wealthy. I spent what ? 34 years as a cop investigating burglary after burglary ? First off there is no such thing as a smart burglar just like there is no such thing as a smart bank robber because each are risking a lot of years in serious prisons for either a property crime, burglary, or a really stupid crime like bank robbery. Bank robbery means 10 years minimum in a federal prison which are real shitholes. In many jurisdictions burglary/residential means serious time in state prisons. Which are shit holes where your going to end up getting raped most like.

Neither offender is a genius. They dont cruise neighborhoods looking for signs of wealth and then plan to a "T" their crime. LMAO! Do you really think burglars are master criminals who know how to spot wealth and make ingress like in a Hollywood movie ? Out of the thousands Ive never investigated a single "HEAT" type movie break in. The closest to that are the Industrial burglarys and even most of them are dumber then your average Afghan hound or rather bright chicken.

95% of burglars, and thieves for that matter, are junkies looking for just enough to get high on for awhile. They cruise looking for easy marks not signs of wealth. Its the reason they flourish so much in residential areas with a lot of APT's, alleys, cheap landlords that wont invest in decent window security. I couldn't tell you how many burglarys and burglarys in progress Ive ran across just driving that squad down alleys in residential areas. The area around Wrigley Park I'd bet leads the country in Burglary/Residentials just because is has all of the following.

1, Easy to get to "elevated trains".
2, Alleys and 3 to 12 flats with easy, hidden ingresses off the porches or in the rear of the apartment doors and windows.
3, Stupid Liberal Yuppies who think the offender is stealing their shit to buy bread and milk for any of the 12 babies from his 6 mommas. Hahahahaha, I always loved that one.
4, Idiot liberal Judges and juries who keep letting them off.
5, Lots of places and fences they can sell the stuff too and usually buy their drugs at as well. Sort of like an "In and Out Burger" for burglary/druggie offenders.
6, The area is almost 100% day workers, Mon thru Fri, they can set their watches to.

There are exceptions. One was a girl I was in the academy with when the offenders broke into her APT while she was sleeping off a mid shift. Before stealing everything she owned they beat the snot out of her and raped her repeatedly only leaving because they thought she was dead. They didn't start beating/raping her until after they found her badge.

I think most of the time the ones who steal your coins know someone you told them about too. There are few people in this life you can trust. I never even told other coppers about mine. To many have gang tatoos thanks to affirmative action and DEI.

"If" they do break in we'll check for prints but the odds are low. Sometimes we get lucky but most of the time we are just giving the citizen their moneys worth. Want my advice ? Get a good dog.
