WASHINGTON (AP) — A New Jersey man who joined a mob's attack on the U.S. Capitol was sentenced Friday to more than six years in prison for using pepper spray to assault police officers, one of whom died a day after the siege.

Julian Khater didn't mention the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick or address the officer's family in a written statement he read aloud before U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan sentenced him to six years and eight months of imprisonment.

The fourth individual, 34-year-old Rosanne Boyland, died of acute amphetamine intoxication according to medical examiners.

Boyland, a Kennesaw, Georgia, woman was a “fervent” supporter of former President Donald Trump, according to her family, and was determined the attend the “Stop the Steal” rally at the Capitol on January 6. Video from the chaos at the Capitol appeared to show Boyland being trampled by other members of the mob that stormed the building. Capitol Police eventually found Boyland unresponsive on the ground and performed CPR, however she was declared dead a short time later at a nearby hospital.

Rosanne lay motionless on the steps after the pile cleared. People tried to get near her to help and it was then that she was seen being beaten brutally by Police Officer Lila Morris with a stick. See that video here:

Rosanne’s face was blue and bloody. Her body lay motionless as men tried to desperately help and defend her, only to be tear-gassed or struck by police. People begged and pleaded with police to give Rosanne CPR. When they realized the police were not going to help and continued to spray teargas, the men finally carried Rosanne down the stairs away from the attacks of police to attempt administer CPR themselves. This is where the video above begins.

This heartbreaking video shows their haphazard yet valiant attempts to save the life of Rosanne Boyland.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News' Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6 riot, McCarthy sources tell me.
  • Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks.
Why it matters: Carlson has repeatedly questioned official accounts of 1/6, downplaying the insurrection as "vandalism."
  • Now his shows — "Tucker Carlson Tonight" on Fox News, and "Tucker Carlson Today" and "Tucker Carlson Originals" on the streaming service Fox Nation — have a massive trove of raw material.
Carlson told me: "[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret."
  • "If there was ever a question that's in the public's interest to know, it's what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It's impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that."
Reality check: The Jan. 6 committee played numerous excerpts of the footage at last year's captivating hearings. (See the committee's archive.)

Between the lines: The process with Carlson started in early February, according to a communication between the show and a McCarthy representative that I was shown.
Flashback: McCarthy told reporters in Statuary Hall last month that he thinks "the American public should actually see all [that] happened instead of a report that's written [on] a political basis." (Video, beginning 10:50)
  • Pushing for the release of the footage, Carlson argued on his show last month that Washington has "a regime of secrecy and deceit."
Carlson last year called the attack an "outbreak of mob violence, a forgettably minor outbreak by recent standards."

Tucker Carlson now has the equivalent of nearly five years of surveillance footage captured by U.S. Capitol Police security cameras on January 6, 2021. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) turned over the tapes to the Fox News host earlier this month, according to Axios. Carlson’s producers and researchers are already distilling the footage; the first round of clips is expected to air in a few weeks.

While some grumble that McCarthy did not fulfill his promise to publicly release the footage—arguably a valid complaint—Carlson’s team undoubtedly will give the massive trove much-needed context and maximum impact. Carlson released a three-part documentary, “Patriot Purge,” in November 2021 that explained how the events of January 6 helped launch a second “war on terror” against American citizens out of step with the Biden regime.

Since early 2021, Carlson has used his nightly show to expose the cruel treatment of Trump supporters suffering pretrial detention orders; raised questions about the use of undercover assets including FBI informants and the mysterious role of Ray Epps; asked why the case of the January 5 “pipe bomber” remains unsolved; and demanded the release of the surveillance video as late as last month.

Enabling this farce in the nation’s capital is Beryl Howell, the chief judge of the D.C. District Court. A former Democratic staffer on Capitol Hill, Howell was appointed to the bench by Barack Obama in 2010 and elevated to chief judge in 2016.

What do you think George Washington would think of this thing? Allowing government goons to steal and search phones from Congressmen. I think there is a word in the Constitution they used for activities like that.

I do. Have lived in America for 70 years now and at no time in the history of presidential elections did we have a president who lost call for his supporters to "go to the capital and fight like hell."

If they weren't happy with the results, they either excepted them and moved on, or they challenged things in court, excepted what the courts said and then moved on.

Not Trump. He and some of his supporters thought they could overthrow the government and install him as a dictator. He didn't want four more years. He wanted his lifetime to be spent in the Whitehouse where he would reign as a dictator.

The people who actually supported this were religious lunatics and white nationalists who figured they could use him to further their wacko goals to push this country back in time to where they would pass all sorts of crazy, insane, bullshit laws to have everyone goose step to their own delusional ideas of how things should be.

Didn't work, thank God. They all need to be held accountable for their actions on that day. Each and every single one of them.

Before Trump we never had one half of the bullshit madness we have going on now. The big question is who is really behind it all?

We always knew the Democrats were corrupt, but I’m slowly getting to realize they are evil. Hopefully Trump can get back in and clean house.
