Ironically, welding is something that robots are really good at ……
If you just need a quick fix on a broken item that’s actually made from steel, then a human has the edge but a continuous weld around a 48” gas or oil pipe has had robotic welders busy for years, same for plasma cutters and welders in fabrication yards.
My advice would be learn how to fix things that are expensive or difficult to replace…
