That really can't work Benjamen because it would bankrupt every single nation on he planet.
If a country forgave all debt inside the country and told it's creditors it was not repaying it's own debt, there is not much banks could do about it except refuse to loan them any future money.
It only works if a country can keep a balanced budget afterwards, but thats the big catch.
