Close Quarters | WW2 Movie (1943) - RN Submarines​

This 1943 feature-length dramatisation follows the Royal Navy T-class submarine "Tyrant" on a routine North Sea patrol off the coast of Norway. Like many British wartime movies, the cast of this feature film are the serving officers and crew.
It was also filmed aboard an operational submarine, offering a rare and detailed view of life in such complex, cramped quarters.

'Rebel Ridge' Stars Praise Netflix Movie For Exposing 'Injustice Of Civil Asset Forfeiture'​

The stars of Netflix’s new thriller are speaking out about the very real “injustice” behind the film: civil asset forfeiture.

“Rebel Ridge” was only released Friday, but has already become the No. 1 movie on the streaming platform. The film, directed by Jeremy Saulnier, follows a fictional U.S. Marine (Aaron Pierre) who has thousands in cash legally seized from him by Alabama police while he’s on his way to bail his cousin out of jail.

Pierre’s character, Terry Richmond, “is a Black man experiencing the intensity and severity, and in this particular case, the injustice, of civil asset forfeiture,” Pierre told Entertainment Weekly in an interview Friday, adding that the film “highlights our ability as individuals to actively not be complicit.”

But Richmond is no typical veteran. He enlists the help of a local court clerk (AnnaSophia Robb), who learns that justice doesn’t always wear a badge.

Nine Lives | Arne Skouen (1957)​

Nine Lives (Norwegian: Ni Liv) is a 1957 Norwegian film about Jan Baalsrud, who was a member of the Norwegian resistance during World War II. Nine Lives was adapted by director Arne Skouen from the novel We Die Alone by David Howarth. Set during WW II, the film charts the adventures of Jan Baalsrud (Jack Fjeldstad), the sole survivor of a Norwegian commando unit. Trapped behind enemy lines, the hero tries to reach the safety of neutral Sweden. Despite the ongoing threat of execution -- not to mention the devastating deadliness of the Norwegian winter -- Baalsrud is aided and abetted by several sympathetic Norwegian patriots. The movie tells the story of this hazardous escape. It is considered one of the most epic movies ever made in Norway. The finale finds Baalsrud somewhere in Lapland, where salvation arrives in a most unexpected fashion. Ni Liv was one of the hits of the 1958 Cannes Film Festival.

The Last Man on Earth (1964)​

Released in 1964, "The Last Man on Earth" is considered to be the most faithful adaptation of Richard Matheson's novel, "I Am Legend".
Since entering the public domain, the film has been released numerous times on VHS and DVD with, unfortunately, rather poor video and audio quality. Now, presented in higher fidelity with 1080p picture and clearer sound. Starring the Vincent Price, the king of horror.

What if "Project Moonbase" was an "Outer Limits" Episode? (with 1963/64 commercials, intro, music)

Mashing up the 1953 (schlocky but apparently not copyright protected) film with elements from the superb TV show from the 1963/64 season, with commercials from the era added to make it seem like an actual Outer Limits episode. Plus, you get to see this nearly forgotten '50s sci-fi film in a new way. It's not perfect, and some dialogue has been removed, but I did my best. You'll note this old film, which predates The Outer Limits by 10 years, is loaded with sexism. And get a load of that bullet bra! The reason I did this, primarily, is to showcase the wonderful scores of master composer Dominic Frontiere. Inserting his mesmerizing Outer Limits music cues into numerous scenes adds drama, tension and epic scope. Enjoy!
