Weakness of the medium. Your apparent dismissal of this tremendous news as "lot of hype" wasn't what you meant. You misunderstood me. None of what you typed is news to me. Try reading the link I posted and you will see that all of it (and more) has been posted there.

I agree...and, for what it's worth, PMB, I got on this road as an at-first reluctant online student of Walt's. We had the kinds of discussions you would expect - he, patient and genteel, me, coarse and crude and dismissive.Correct. It is a serious issue and deserves attention. My "hype" comment was directed at what I consider to be a bit hyperbolic/hysterical language/characterization/interpretation of events. This story isn't something that materialized suddenly. It's been developing in earnest over the last two decades. If it continues, it will likely play out over several more decades. But then, I'm not trying to sell you a book I just wrote or a subscription service. Supporting pmbug.com is totally optional.
Exactly. We stop with all the goofy sanctions or BRIC's abandons the dollar. This is clear enough...
... And, frankly, I see a lot of eventual upside to the destruction/disappearance of the dollar. ...
First they cut off & threatens to cut off disobedient countries from the $ based system and then they warn from not using the $.
Agreed. It all depends upon what comes next - what replaces it.
A dystopian world where digital IDs and CBDCs make China's social credit system go worldwide? No thanks.

A world where countries settle trade using a mix of local currencies and gold or crypto? Maybe. I'm not sure that history shows this works for very long. There has always been a dominant global currency. There will likely be one again soon enough (after king dollar loses the crown).
A world where sound money (ie. gold and silver) and competing decentralized cryptos are all freely traded? Heck yeah!
