I have bought some dozens of sheets of 7/16 OSB that apparently came from Canada. Maybe some of my 2x6 lumber came from Canada, but I don't know. I am pretty sure my 3/4" and 5/8" plywood came from the US. So if I could go back 15 years and remove all Canadian products from my building, I don't think it would have disturbed me.

Today, I won't mind the price difference, if any. Canada, go fuck yourself! I don't need your wood, I don't need your oil, I don't need your beer. You have nothing else to offer me, and you have spend the last decade behaving like a useless and retarded uncle that the family has been reluctant to send away. Canada, you are a worthless shit country, and I do NOT want you to be part of the US.

Canada, you are shit. I won't give a rat's ass if the gypsies from Hungary and Spain take over your political system. Or if the Islam assholes take over. You bought your demise, enjoy the ride.

I know where most of the wood that I use comes from. Some is domestic. The cherry comes out of Pennsylvania, the maple from upstate NY, the black walnut mostly comes out of Virginia. The exotics come from Central America, South America, and Africa.


I will say, however, that Canada is home to several excellent companies that make tools for fine woodworking and I own many Canadian-made tools. The miter gauge on my table saw is made by JessEm. I own several fine Vertitas hand planes. And my fret saw is a piece of titanium art made by a Canadian company called Knew Concepts.

Again...how to know? They hold two opposing views at the same time, and partly because they're indoctrinated (with repetition and appeals to authority) to hold such. This is the result of suits on the tevee saying, "Believe all women" and "mental illness is not a crime"...yada yada.
