A very special kind of idiot. lolOnly idiots would believe Trumps assassination attempt in Butler PA was staged.
Absolutely! Anyone who wants anyone to be killed, is scum. I hated Biden as potus, but I sure as f' didn't want him to get shot.I think anybody that wants the president of the US to be assassinated is scum.
Who else would be? Ya calll someone "lterally Hitler!" for a Decade and eventually a braindead TDSer will try to go for it.You don't think a deranged democrat was behind it?
thinly veiled dog whistles for assassination that Dems have promulgated over the last few months
Controversial Statements by Democratic Officials
Several Democratic officials have made statements that have been interpreted as calls for violence against Donald Trump. Here are notable examples:
Specific Incidents
Date Official/Position Statement Summary January 2025 Bill Swift, Lenawee County Democratic Party Chairman Suggested that Trump supporters should be hanged, calling Trump an "illegitimate" president. July 2024 Various Democratic lawmakers Some expressed controversial views following an assassination attempt on Trump, with comments that were later walked back. Reactions and Outrage
These incidents highlight the divisive nature of current political discourse and the extreme reactions that can arise in response to political figures.
- Public Backlash: These statements have led to significant outrage from both political opponents and within the Democratic Party itself.
- Condemnation: Many political figures, including members of the Tennessee Democratic Party, have condemned such rhetoric, emphasizing that there is no place for political violence in America.
Here are notable examples of statements or actions by Democrats (elected officials, party figures, or prominent allies) that critics have cited as direct calls for violence/death against Donald Trump or his supporters, or as dogwhistles implying the same. These are drawn from public records, with full context where available. Explicit calls for Trump's assassination from top national Democratic leaders are rare and not representative of official party positions—most involve heated rhetoric, metaphors, or post-assassination-attempt reactions that were widely condemned (including by other Democrats). Many were later walked back, apologized for, or defended as non-literal.

Joe Biden (July 2024)In a private call with Democratic donors days before the first assassination attempt on Trump (July 13, 2024), President Biden said: “We’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”

He later called the wording a “mistake” in an NBC interview, clarifying he meant “focus on” Trump’s policies and record, not literal violence: “I didn’t say crosshairs. I meant focus on him.”

Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, accused it of inciting the attempt; Biden condemned the shooting.Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA, 2018)At a rally, Waters urged: “If you see anybody from [President Trump’s] cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them! And you tell them that they are not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Critics called this incitement to harassment/violence; it led to resolutions attempting to censure or expel her (which failed). Waters said she was not encouraging violence.

Kathy Griffin (prominent comedian and Democrat ally, 2017)Griffin posted a photo of herself holding a bloody, fake severed head resembling Trump, captioned with a reference to Trump’s own past comments. She called it political satire/art. It triggered a Secret Service investigation; she was fired by CNN, faced widespread backlash (including from Democrats), apologized (“I went too far”), and later said she had no regrets in some contexts.

Hillary Clinton (2018)In a CNN interview, Clinton said: “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about… That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.”

Critics labeled it a rejection of civility and a dogwhistle for aggressive “resistance.” Clinton framed it as electoral strategy against what she saw as an ideological threat.Local Democratic Party Official: Lenawee County (MI) Chairman Bill Swift (2025)After Trump’s inauguration, Swift (on a radio call and party social media) called Trump an “illegitimately… elected insurrectionist president” who ran on “Nazi rhetoric” and labeled ICE agents “Nazi collaborators.” He highlighted/endorsed a party post stating Trump supporters “trying to make Donald Trump King” are “traitor(s) who should be hanged by the neck until dead.”

Michigan Republicans (e.g., Sen. Joseph Bellino) demanded his resignation; no broad Democratic condemnation is noted in reports. This is one of the most explicit recent calls for execution of Trump supporters.Post-July 2024 Assassination Attempt Reactions by Democratic Elected Officials
Broader Context on DogwhistlingCritics often point to repeated Democratic framing of Trump as an “existential threat to democracy,” “Hitler,” “fascist,” or “Nazi” (e.g., by party officials or allies) as creating a permissive environment for violence—implying he must be stopped “by any means.” A 2024 Manhattan Institute poll (using list experiments to reduce social-desirability bias) found roughly a third of Democratic voters agreed with “I wish Trump’s assassin hadn’t missed” in the immediate aftermath of the July attempt (though two-thirds explicitly rejected it).
- Colorado State Rep. Steven Woodrow (D): Minutes after the Butler, PA shooting (which wounded Trump, killed one attendee, and injured others), he posted: “The last thing America needed was sympathy for the devil but here we are.” He deleted his account and apologized, calling it “inarticulate” and saying his words caused “additional pain.”
denverpost.com- Tennessee State Rep. Antonio Parkinson (D): Posted “I certainly hope this is not a staged act. But…” (with eye-roll emoji), then walked it back, condemning violence and noting national division.

Fact-checks frequently note that many viral “Dems inciting violence” clips are taken out of context or predate specific events.

These examples are frequently compiled in conservative media as evidence of one-sided incitement (e.g., YouTube roundups titled “Every Time Democrats Called for Violence Against Trump”).

In reality, both parties have used inflammatory language, and studies show political violence threats have risen across the spectrum—with Trump himself disproportionately targeted in some datasets.

Direct calls for death remain fringe or rhetorical excesses rather than mainstream Democratic policy.
Okay but which side is doing the Shooting?I guess both sides are guilty. We all need to bring the temp down.
Democrats have not been this upset since slavery was repealed in the USA.Okay but which side is doing the Shooting?
Refresh my memory I have forgotten when republicans/conservatives shot at liberal/progressive/democrats.

I asked a VERY specific question which you avoided. If you respond please answer my question.Both.
When it comes to politicians R and D are both guilty of the inciteful rhetoric.
As for newscasters, media peeps I don't think r or d really matters. They cater to a certain audience for $$$$$.
Now as to the actual shooters........forget r or d because you're dealing with fools and loons.
In this particular thread we're dealing with a 31 year old college educated fellow who had everything to live for. His life is now over and he will never be a free man again. And it was all for nothing. And he kinda cast a bad shadow over his family. Not good, bad juju.
Now as for me, I really don't take my political posts too seriously. It's fun to see the replies but nothing I post here will change one thing and I know it. And I realize the only say I really have is when I vote. After that I'm done.
Right and that was deranged idiot and can hardly be characterized as an attack against democrats by republicans.Only violence against Dems that I recall off hand wasn't a shooting, it was the hammer attack on Pelosi's husband.
