Israel attacked Iran early on Friday morning, Israel's defense minister said, raising fears of an all-out war between two of the most powerful militaries in the Middle East.

Neither the scale of the attack, which was confirmed by a U.S. official, nor the damage it caused was immediately clear. The strike was expected to prompt swift retaliation from Iran, likely involving a large barrage of ballistic missiles comparable to that Iran fired during similar escalations last year.

 
I was unplugged from internet, tv, radio, etc. all afternoon and evening. Just catching up on the news. I'm not terribly surprised - this was strongly telegraphed with the US embassy personnel evacuations.

Trump's supposed to have Peace talks with Iran on Sunday...

I suspect those will be postponed...?

The threat we face right now inside the US is activated Iranian-allied terror cells.

This is where the Democrat "No Border" policy has created huge risks.

Hundreds of thousands of military aged men made it into the country without any encounter with US immigration personnel. We have no idea who they are or where they are.

They can easily access weapons inside the US in an illegal manner.

I 100% expect that we will have attacks inside the US of a similar nature to what Israel and Western European countries suffer.

Could start at any time.

Trump lied about the USA not being part of this to avoid retaliation, but Israel could not pull this off without refueling and AWAC support, so both Britain and USA helping. Also we will help block retaliation like we did last time.
 
I have two early experiences with these Iranians SOB's that happened in the '70's and shows you what savages they are.

The first was in Nov. 1977 when a buddy of mine, an Iranians here on a green card, had a mother who was a big shot in Pro-Shah of Iran groups and was organizing a big turn out for a visit to D. C. by the Shah to see Jimmy Carter. So with the big oil money she arranged for a bunch of us to get free plane tickets and Hotel stays in D.C. "very nice Hotel" and all we had to do was show up at a Pro-Shah rally on the Sun., or maybe Sat. I forget.

So we spent the weekend drinking and gambling and went to the rally in front of the WH Lawn where Carter was entertaining the Shah. Then all of a sudden thousands of anti-Shah Muslim Fundamentalist types carrying sticks and bats came running across the Lawn and attacked our group. It was sheer madness as they even beat the woman , elderly, and little children to bloody pulps. I was on crutches for a sprained ankle at the time so I gave one crutch to a buddy and we started braining as many of these animals as we could whilst trying to save as many kids as we could. The brutality was tremendous and ugly to watch. Eventually we fought our way out of there as the Army tear gassed everyone but the ones who really saved us was the Park Police mounted units. A trained horse in a riot is an awesome thing to behold. The horses themselves got pissed off and started stomping and kicking the hell out of these rioter's.

My 2nd experience with these charmers was almost two years to the day later when I went into roll call in a USAF MP unit in S/E Turkey, the closest airbase to Iran. Our commander was there and he told us a bunch of Fundamentalist students had over ran the US embassy in Tehran we had stupidly allowed to stay open and had taken its personnel hostage, putting us on a war footing to go in there and get them out. We were told to draw weapons and ammo and go back to the dorm ready to deploy. But Carter never sent us and it was that moment of weakness that lead to this entire war against terror in the decades that followed and we had to endure month after month of Ted Koppel on TV reminding us how long they stayed hostage.

Believe me when I say this bunch can't be trusted and should they ever get nukes it would be the absolute worst thing for the entire world because I think they would use them. In the entire decade of the '80s they were busy with their war with Iraq. The decade of the '90s they were busy with rebuilding such as it was, and starting in the 2000's they have been busy building up a nuclear weapons production chain that is entirely domestic and whose roots go back to the days of the Shah. This Industrial production chain is dispersed, hidden, and largely buried in deep tunnels. I dont think Israel alone can stop them, most certainly they are getting access to American INTEL and advanced weaponry.

Worst of all, and at the very least, Iran getting nukes would cause countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey to build them and maybe Iraq. Once that happens, and the controls are off, then South Korea and Japan will follow. After all this is 80+ year old technology.

  • The United States military is helping to intercept Iranian missiles and projectiles being launched at Israel, NBC News reported.
  • The missiles came in retaliation for Israel’s continued airstrikes against Iran, which have hit more than 200 targets, according to the IDF.
  • Trump and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke earlier Friday, a U.S. official told NBC.
  • Photos and videos from Tel Aviv showed Israel’s “Iron Dome” missile defense system intercepting rockets over the city.
The United States military is helping to shoot down Iranian missiles and projectiles being launched at Israel, three American officials told NBC News on Friday.

The U.S. took the defensive actions after Tehran targeted Israel in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s continued attacks on more than 200 targets in Iran, including nuclear sites, according to Israel Defense Forces.

Global freight ships set defensive plans for Israel-Iran conflict, Strait of Hormuz risks​

  • Freight ship owners are exercising extra caution and some are opting to stay away from the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf after Israel's attacks on Iran.
  • The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea, handles roughly 20 million barrels per day of oil and oil products, and remains open to normal commercial trade.
  • There is also considerable container traffic in the area, as well, using giant Mideast ports like Jebil Ali in the UAE, and there are concerns global freight ships may avoid the Strait, effectively closing it.
Commercial traffic including critical global oil trade continues to flow through the Strait of Hormuz after Israel's attack on Iran, but maritime shipping experts say there will be ongoing risk that safety measures taken by ship owners act as a de facto Strait of Hormuz slow down, if not outright closure.

The situation is very tense, according to Jakob Larsen, chief safety & security officer at the Baltic and International Maritime Council, one of the largest international shipping associations, and he said BIMCO is receiving reports that more shipowners are exercising extra caution and are opting to stay away from the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf.

Israel attacks Iran and claims they were developing a nuclear weapon. Where's the proof? Has any news org asked that one simple question? We been hearing the same thing for at least 2 decades now, Iran is just about to have nukes. Never seems to happen though.
Trump was supposedly in negotiations with Iran as well. Was he playing dumb? Did Israel supply the US with any proof? Of course US news agencies are beyond useless. They get the talking points and focus on that propaganda and not much else.

The United States intelligence community has assessed that Iran is not currently building a nuclear weapon, according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Speaking before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Gabbard stated that the intelligence community "continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003."

Maybe Trump and her need to talk because Trump is starting to change his tune and saying the US could get involved. The US has the only weapon that can penetrate to destroy the last nuke facility. Of course if there is no nuke being built then all of this is BS and only part of the neocons plan for everlasting wars.

Israel is not doing as well as expected, so off to Israel's war we go, just like Iraq and Afghanistan and lebanon and Syria....knowing full well both Egypt and Jordan could switch sides.
