Well I had a bunch of pics but I let a guy take them home on furlough and he went AWOL. Lesson learned. One incident really sticks out in my mind tho working inside the fence of the high security weapons storage area at Balıkesir. The Turks guarded the outside because , Hell, who would let them be in control of nukes. Well two Turk Army guards got into a pissing match over, who knows what,? They were yelling Turk. Eventually it turned into a dance match but that wasn't good enough for one of them and he grabbed his AK-47, jacked a round, and was going to shoot the other soldier.Love good stories especially with pics![]()
Well that was to much, even for a Turk, and the other Turks jumped on him and wrestled the weapon away from him before he could fire. And then the real show began, which we viewed while sitting on top of a bomb bunker. The Turks started putting the boots to him. Then a SGT showed up and they handed the ass kicking over to him "while the Turk on the ground squealed for his life, then a higher rank SGT showed up and the lower ranked one dutifully handed over the boot stomping to him. And then the Lieutenant, and then the Captain and then the Major. I bet the entire chain of command of this poor asshole stomped the hell out of him, each rank saluting when handing over the boot beating.
Eventually they were just kicking unconscious meat, which I guess they found boring, and they threw what was left of this guy in the back of a truck and drove off. Later the other Turk guards told us they beat the guy to death. Whether true or not I dont know but I believed it then and I believe it now. To their conscripts they were brutal. That and they starved them. We used to get chow hall food sent to us when we were out in the field that was so lousy we wouldn't even eat it so we gave it to the Turk guards who gobbled it up with both hands like it was dinner at the Ritz.
