When you step back and look at the big picture you have both sides pointing fingers at each other while necessary peeps in important positions go without pay. Needy peeps go without food and medical care. All the while the peeps who are causing this bullshit are being paid, buying all the food they want and getting top notch medical care and playing the blame game, all on the backs of the taxpayers they're shitting on. WTF?!?!?!

Funny thing...........this madness doesn't happen anywhere else in the industrialized world, just here.

If you are working for the government, you are lucky to afford an old Camry, my group wasn't highly paid...Crown Vics where also a good choice.

"Both sides", yea right. lol

Only one side is holding the nation hostage because they can't tack on $1.4T in new spending to the CR.

All the CR does is continue spending at currently agreed on levels. The dems are the clear problem, this time.

Because the rest of the world, Russia and China excepted, are small duchies that evolved (and were recreated by the Allies) into parliamentary democracies.

Socialism/collectivism works to some extent in small groups. Classic example is the New England Town Meeting. Every interested person attends and has a say.

Try that in Lost Angles.

ALSO, they require a homogenous population, with at least the same cultural values. If everyone in your county is brought up on hard work, you can get things done. The Mormons in Utah were such a group. The state logo is the beehive - all working together in a hostile land.

What happens when you get Free Riders who care nothing for contributing, who are just there to live off you and your neighbors? Everyone from these non-Engrish-Spreakers who want Moar Free, to the geto 'groids who are threatening people with jobs (white people, we'll soon see) because they no gettin dere Foo Stamms.

Collectivism in Canada's medical system ALMOST worked for a time. Does it work with the VA hospital system?

I'd rather just have a system that contracts private hospitals to PAY providers - letting me have some choice, instead of quacks of marginal competence. The kind who believe in The Jab and Face Diapers.

Why do you keep forgetting our zionist friends in America and israel...totally welfare.

Kiryas Joel is a rapidly growing Satmar Hasidic village in Orange County, New York, founded in the mid-1970s by Yiddish-speaking Jewish families. Known for its insular nature, community-focused life, and very high birth rate, it now operates within the town of Palm Tree, which it helped form in 2019 after separating from the town of Monroe. The community has a strong emphasis on religious values, modest dress, and gender separation in public areas.
  • Community and lifestyle:
Kiryas Joel is a tightly-knit, insular community of Satmar Hasidic Jews that emphasizes traditional values and family.
    • Residents speak Yiddish, and the lifestyle avoids secular media like televisions.

    • The community has very traditional gender roles and a high birth rate, with a very young median age.

^^^^

Those are bad things? Modesty and gender roles and avoiding public lewdness?

With all the Joosteria out there...do you WANT them moving into your WASP suburb, or rural county? Or staying with their own - which is how things have worked, successfully, for most of America's history. Presbyterians in Boston; Jews in New York; Quakers in Pennsylvania. Lutherans in Ohio and Mormons in Utah. What's wrong with that?

I don't want to be in with people who hate me. One moar reason I'm not living in 'groid-overrun Georgia.

They live on welfare and they were a major force behind Senator Hillary Clinton...

And all the democrats in washinton state.
Yeah. Except they're not Democrats anymore; they're "Democratic Socialists." The Pantifa movement is taking over the Party like a parasite.

I'm okay with that. The neighboring states will have to put up boundaries, though. They'll have to fight Imperial Washington for their RIGHT to so do.

It will be easier, legally, once we de-certify Califreakistan driver's licenses. ALL of them. Anyone think that these durka-durka CDL drivers are the only ones causing problems? Grabbin Pondscum wanted to give DLs to every invader, and has damn-near succeeded; and now roads are killing fields. DO NOT RECOGNIZE. BAR THE ROADS IN AND OUT.

Washingtoon (the state) also. And Ore Gone.

US grocers brace for sales dip as food aid set to lapse

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. grocers and food companies ranging from Walmart to Smithfield Foods are bracing for a dip in November sales if federal food aid benefits lapse for the first time due to the ongoing government shutdown.

The shutdown has imperiled next month's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps, which serves nearly 42 million people.

Just in time for Thanksgiving...
Of COURSE.

This is Schmuck Choomer's engineering. Do you think any of what he does is accidental? He's got a hot-line phone to the Ninth Circle of Hell.

He's LOVING this. He'll be loving it right up until one of his pawns blows his balding head off - if that's how it ends up. Meantime, he just LIVES for chaos.

Albany is a political sump; a city of mental illness - and that's where Schmuck learned his trade.

Trump says Senate should scrap the filibuster to end the shutdown, an idea opposed by Republicans

WASHINGTON (AP) — Back from a week abroad, President Donald Trump is calling on the Senate to scrap the filibuster and reopen the government after a monthlong shutdown, breaking with majority Republicans who have long opposed such a move.

Trump said in a post on his social media site Thursday that “THE CHOICE IS CLEAR — INITIATE THE ‘NUCLEAR OPTION,’ GET RID OF THE FILIBUSTER.”

Trump’s sudden decision to assert himself into the shutdown debate — bringing the highly charged demand to end the filibuster — is certain to set the Senate on edge. It could spur senators toward their own compromise or send the chamber spiraling toward a new sense of crisis.

Some senators stranded in DC because of government shutdown

Some senators are finding themselves stranded in Washington, D.C., at the end of the Senate workweek because of delays at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport linked to the monthlong government shutdown.

The Senate held its last vote of the week at 1:35 pm Thursday and, as usual, senators raced out of the Capitol to catch their flights home for the weekend.

SNAP update: Trump admin will pay 50% of food stamp benefits in November amid shutdown

  • The Trump administration told a judge that it would use contingency funds to pay at least some SNAP benefits during the ongoing U.S. government shutdown.
  • SNAP provides food stamps to about 42 million Americans.
  • The administration declined the option U.S. District Court Judge Jack McConnell had suggested to make the full November payments for SNAP benefits by using money from the Child Nutrition Program and other funds.
The Trump administration told a Rhode Island federal judge on Monday that it would tap billions of dollars in contingency funds to pay 50% of the normal amount of SNAP benefits in November as the U.S. government shutdown persists.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides food stamps to about 42 million low-income Americans.

US Army tells soldiers to 'go to food bank' as government shutdown halts pay

Amid what is now the longest government shutdown in US history, the approximately 37,000 US service personnel stationed in Germany have reportedly been advised to seek help from food banks if their wages are not paid in November.

Military personnel reportedly received their October salaries thanks to emergency funding drawn from multiple sources: $2.5 billion from summer tax cut legislation, $1.4 billion from military procurement accounts, and $1.4 billion from research and development.

I have heard that if the shutdown goes longer than 40 days, that the potus will be able to start cutting the federal workforce.

Anyone else heard that, or know if it's true?

I'm hoping it is, as the federal workforce needs cutting to the bone.

Get rid of most federal contractors too.

We need a gov that's about 15% of the size of the one we have now.

Edited to add: woulda said it needs to be about 5% of its current size, but I didn't want to come across as seeming radical. Lol

SNAP benefits: Trump admin tells states it will fully fund food stamps as appeal continues

  • The Trump administration told states it will begin paying full SNAP benefits.
  • The memo came the same day as the administration asked a federal appeals court to block a judge’s order that it fully pay 42 million Americans those food stamp benefits for November.
  • The administration asked the 1st Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to allow its plan to pay 65% of the food stamp benefits this month from a contingency fund.
  • The request came a day after Judge Jack McConnell issued an order in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island rejecting the partial payment option.
The administration requested that the 1st Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals allow it to pay 65% of the food stamp benefits this month from a contingency fund, as it proposed to the judge earlier this week.

The move came a day after Judge Jack McConnell issued an order in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island rejecting the partial payment option.

Democratic leader offers deal to reopen government but Republicans sneer

  • Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer offered a new plan to Republicans that would allow the U.S. government to reopen after a shutdown that began on Oct. 1.
  • But Republicans quickly dismissed Schumer’s proposal, which hinges on protecting enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies for at least one year.
  • Schumer’s proposal calls for Democrats to agree to pass a so-called clean resolution that would provide short-term funding for government operations.
Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer on Friday offered a new plan to Republican lawmakers that would allow the U.S. government to reopen from a shutdown that began Oct. 1.

But Republicans quickly dismissed Schumer’s proposal, which hinges on protecting enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies for at least one year in exchange for Democrats dropping their demand that a longer extension of ACA tax credits be included in a short-term government funding bill.

They darn well should sneer at it. You should too.

None of it should be in there.

That bs was "enhanced" during the wuflu to help people who didn't even qualify for obozo care.

Newsflash! Wuflu is long over. People are back to work. So they can pay for their own shit. The enhanced bs should have ended at least two years ago, but the dems are using it to hold the nation hostage in order to force a trillion in extra spending.

They need to vote to open the gov, THEN they can discuss the merits or lack thereof of the bs spending they want. As they are now, they are (dems) are less than worthless. You'd have to pay good money just to get someone to haul them away like like the trash they are.

Also, this shit ain't helping us sell $10+T in new debt, either.
.......and that's how much needs to be sold just to keep this shit show running. But the idiot dems and TDSers don't care about that.

The Democrats think they are winning this because of the recent elections... I'm fine having it all stay closed. Good riddance.

We won't need a military budget if all the soldiers go home from not being paid...
