Government shutdown live updates: Stalemate to last at least three days​

The United States government shut down early Wednesday morning, setting the stage for the furlough of hundreds of thousands of federal workers and the shuttering of a slew of key programs and services.

Here’s what to know:

  • The full shutdown began after top Democrats and Republicans, including President Donald Trump, failed to agree on a short-term deal to keep the government funded.

Supposed to be about saving money but no mention of the 279 Billion dollars a DAY being spent in the ‘defense’ budget’. This shutdown is part of Project 2025 which is proceeding rapidly and can be tracked online. OMB director Vought was the architect of that plan. Read the tracker to follow the game."

Government shutdown hits air travel, closing a control tower and causing delays across the country​

A pilot preparing to take off Monday from Hollywood Burbank Airport in California took the routine step of radioing the air traffic control tower.

But instead of the usual back-and-forth conversation of coordinating departure, the pilot received a different response: “The tower is closed due to staffing,” according to audio recorded by LiveATC.net.

The exchange is one example of the impact the ongoing government shutdown is having on travelers across the US as air traffic controller staffing issues have led to delays at major airports and forced pilots in some areas to pivot to alternative workflows.

Controllers are considered essential workers, so they must work during the shutdown, but are not being paid.

What is there to negotiate about?

Schmuck Choomer wants ILLEGALS to have access to subsidized programs - costing resources of programs INTENDED FOR CITIZENS.

People who were ILLEGALLY brought in, are then supposed to be cared for courtesy of OUR MONEY? Not even tax dollars, not directly. Print the money and tax everyone...the poor worst of all.

THIS...is an argument for NEGOTIATION? What in HELL are DemocRats, and Gnu Yarkers, even THINKING.

The Office of Management and Budget, which Vought leads, soon after confirmed that “RIFs have begun and are substantial.”

No other details of the layoffs were immediately released.
