"The Grand Canyon by Carl's Junior.
Proud sponsor of Brawndo!"
Carl's Jr. (CKE Holdings is the corporate name, since Karcher passed away 20 years ago) isn't gonna have the scratch to afford it. Since they bought Hardy's they've been on hard times...Hardy's was a franchise company, Carl's Jr was all corporate owned outlets. And Carl Karcher's death. They keep on making mistakes - right to their famous "Six Dollar Burger" they were so proud of. The name suggested that at a fast-casual restaurant it would be $6. Well, now with the full flowering of Leftism, it's $15 at Carl's.

So. Grand Canyon would have to go to someone who can pay. Pfizer, maybe?

Or a lithium-mining company. Don't know of any names; but good grief, that would fit in so well. Advertise out front, strip mine behind the fence, and the profits enable suitable graft for the morons in CON gress.

It's going higher as short term interest rates get managed. Think of somewhere between college kids on sping break in Jamaica and Cheech & Chong.

This is why you should support efforts of the admin to get lower interest rates.
....or are you hoping for a crash so that hopefully someone like Madam Kackles or Gruesome Newsom weasels their way into office instead?

Trump may be far from perfect, but compared to them he looks to be a lot closer to it.

No matter how bad one might perceive the current admin to be, it's far better than anything we'd get from the Dems. All they have to offer is defacto open borders* and a knee jerk reaction of being against anything Trump was seen as being for. Even if it's the very same stuff the Dems used say that they supported.

* I saw where the idiot dem running in CA was saying we need more illegals due to so many actual citizens fleeing the State in response to Dems having f'ed it up beyond all recognition.
.....and I think you know which dem I am talking about.
Ie: the dumb one that's also a socialist.

That's what we need. ZIRP. For more mal-investment.

And moar speculative real-estate manipulation - Black Rock and other private-capital investment, borrowing to buy because it's low cost. Watch the real estate prices rise. YUUGE!

Watch moar homes sit empty while moar people are forced into old RVs. And watch the same Globalists demand we bring in **MOAR WORKERS!!** to fill those homes and use government money to pay the rents.

Watch moar stock buybacks by the former blue-chips.

Watch moar DEBT CREATION, money given to (not) "Non-Government Organizations" to fund moar Queering-The-Arts, moar planeloads of Somali re-tards, moar Jab programs, moar Wuhan programs...

HELL NO.

For SURVIVAL, this shit-show has to STOP.

No, cut spending first, cutting rates only encourages spending.

How did Paul Volcker stop the Stagflation viscious-circle?

He lowered interest rates, to, what? Help me out, here.
We're not exactly in that situation.

When they shoulda pulled a Volcker move was in '21 when we actually had higher inflation and higher unemployment.

Nothing the gov has ever done has led to reduced spending.

Not since days of Chester A. Arthur, at least.

Ain't been a better POTUS since .

Pretty soon nobody will want 30 yr USTs. How long before they stop wanting dollars altogether?

If the BRICS got their act together they could leapfrog the west and takeover in a matter of months.

Fed rate <> Treasury rates

Japan, Turkey et al are dumping Treasuries to support their local currencies. Fed rate isn't going to affect the calculus at all. The great toilet swirl has begun. It reminds me that I don't own enough gold and silver.

Apparently Turkey was included in "All Other", but they dumped ~$14B in March to support the Lira.

And that's why I hate politicians,
The idea of a debt limit (for Congress) is a dumb idea.

Congress controls the purse strings according to the Constitution.

So if Congress tells the gov to spend money on something, it's pretty stupid to not allow the gov to issue the debt necessary in order to do the spending that Congress already approved.

That's not to say that I believe that debt should just be issued willy nilly, but Congress knows darn well what the nations financial situation is when they order spending to be done.

This is why only gold and silver could be money in the constitution, couldn't have unlimited debt.

Well yea, but that horse has been outta the barn longer than practically anyone has been alive.

So yea, let's just instantly switch back to a monetary system that would bleed the nation dry before the end of next month. Lol

I'm all for going back to a gold standard, but it can't happen with $40+ trillion in outstanding debt.

All we gotta do, is to all agree to live beneath our means (as a nation) by at least $1 trillion per year for the next 40 years.

Then we can talk about going back onto a gold standard.

Good luck with that.

The yen strengthened 2% today as the $USD dropped below 100. That is bullish for PMs.

So, now we put it back in... buy your own gold.
Put it back in with what?

Going back on a gold standard immediately would immediately bankrupt the nation.

Gotta cut spending and substantially reduce debt before trying to go back to a gold standard.
....unless of course your intention is to bankrupt the nation.

Then bankruptcy it is, we might as well get it over with....

It would decimate the nation and plunge virtually everyone into poverty.

If there is anything that could be done to prevent that, it will be done.

Which is why a return to the gold standard cannot happen at this time.

By "happening", I mean those in power Enacting the laws necessary to make it happen right now. That's a pipe dream. You'd have better luck getting them to Enact a death penalty for congressional insider trading.

Might as well get started then...
Are you willing to decimate your own lifestyle and standard of living by pulling the plug right now?

What will happen is whatever's necessary to maintain Global position.

Anything less is like committing national suicide.

At least until we get our fiscal situation in order.
...but that'll take 40+ years of austerity.
