Late to this.

Also, I post as a diabetic - Type II, controlled.

The key to control is simple: Lifestyle. Regular sleep, and enough of it, with your natural sleep/wake cycles. Food, heavy in proteins. Fats are fine; watch total caloric intake.

As much exercise as you can squeeze into your daily routine. Walk, don't drive. Take a bicycle if walking is not practical. If the weather is bad, mall-walk or find another sheltered area.

The PROBLEM is, first, diabetes often manifests in age. Old people don't want to be out peddling bicycles. Walking hurts, especially with old-people problems like knees or hips.

Second problem is, limiting the caloric intake is HARD. Lots of heavy sweets, pies and the like, are fine if you're an active teenager or you just spent two days working a harvest-bee with the neighbors, getting the crops in before the first October rains.

They're NOT fine if you're sitting on your nethers, reading or watching a screen. YOU HAVE TO CUT IT OUT.

How many are able to do this, especially in today's slack culture? Grandma isn't like her own grandmother. She's a Boomer. We're a bit short on self-discipline, sadly.

European Nutritionist Explains Why American Food Is So Unhealthy

You can't outrun a bad diet. Food — not lack of exercise — fuels obesity, study finds

Back in the 1800s, obesity was almost nonexistent in the United States. Over the last century, it's become common here and in other industrialized nations, though it remains rare among people who live more traditional lifestyles, such as the Hadza hunter-gatherers of Tanzania.

So what's changed? One common explanation is that as societies have developed, they've also become more sedentary, and people have gotten less active. The assumption is that as a result, we burn fewer calories each day, contributing to an energy imbalance that leads to weight gain over time, says Herman Pontzer, a professor of evolutionary biology and global health at Duke University who studies how human metabolism has evolved.

I'm here to tell ya. Drop the weight, drop the A1C readings.

It's hard, with the filthy engineered food we have today...but, feel better, live longer, take fewer pills...whack off 20 pounds.

I recommend intermittent fasting - one meal a day. Save time, save money, eat a few things that diets don't allow. Like, occasionally, ice cream or fried chicken.

90% Of Pasta On Grocery Store Shelves Is Contaminated With Teflon.

Shiny Smooth Pasta Dough Gets Extruded Thru Heated Teflon Die Plates.

This Releases PFAs Forever Chemicals Into Each Noodle.

Here Are Vital Shopping Tips For Choosing Non Teflon Pasta & Noodles At Every Store.

Pasta Is Cut In 2 Ways:
Teflon Die Cut (Avoid):
Teflon is cheaper on the shelf & replaced most bronze cut pasta because of profitability for big food manufacturers. Teflon, as we know, causes harmful health effects to the body, including neurological & cancer.

Teflon cut pasta signifies that the pasta dough has been squeezed thru a teflon extruder, which causes friction & subsequent heat, allowing PFAs forever chemicals to end up in the pasta. These pastas will be smooth, shiny & without any texture in appearance.

Bronze Drawn Die Cut (Preferred):
Bronze cut signifies that the pasta die cut mechanism used with the pasta extruder is made of pure bronze. There are no chemicals involved, which results in a healthy PFAs free pasta that is rough & textured looking in appearance.

Nearly all pasta on grocery-store shelves has been made with Teflon dies, which allows a quick & cheap production. These industrial teflon dies create extruded pastas with a slick teflon coated surface that’s nearly impenetrable to sauce or seasoned oils.

The same dough passing through pure chemical free bronze dies emerges with tiny abrasions on each strand of spaghetti or elbow macaroni. These abrasions allow sauce & seasoned oils to cling & saturate each forkful with rich flavor.

Labeling By Law:
*⃣ Teflon Cut pasta has no distinct labeling nor is it required to be stated as such.
*⃣ Bronze Drawn Cut pasta WILL 100% be labeled somewhere on the front or the back of the label.

Cost Considerations For Budget & Economics:
Prior to 2024, healthy bronze die cut pasta was higher priced than teflon pasta, but today the price per pound is almost identical & there are options for Bronze Drawn Die cut pasta in dollar stores, discount stores & bulk club stores.

Healthiest Nutrition Without Pesticides When Buying Pasta & Noodles:
Because of heavy pesticide & herbicide use in the US that contaminates all grains, when budget allows, look for pasta from Italy, GMO free & certified organic which will allow someone to enjoy pasta once in awhile free from GI distress & allergic reactions from chemical laden US grains.

Some Common Brands Of Teflon Pasta To Avoid:
Ronzoni
Barilla
Divella
Most Regular Store Brands

Some Common Brands Of Bronze Cut Pasta To Buy:
De Cecco
Rummo
Dreamfields
Faella
Barilla al Bronzo
Garofalo
Delverde
Czechos
Mulesana

Why Americans Eat What Europe Bans

Aug 17, 2025 UNITED STATES
Hate to break it to you, but if you are dining in the United States, your truffle oil wasn't made from truffles. Your vanilla extract? Well, that's probably just a lab-made derivative of crude oil. And your shaker of Parmesan cheese? It probably has wood pulp inside. But fake foods aren’t just misleading, they are also becoming incredibly common in the USA... up to 50% of calories, according to some estimates. So how did America become the imitation nation, while Europe said no?”
