Hate to tell him...they weren't all slim.

Now there weren't so many grotesque fatties using walkers; but there were PLENTY of fat folks. The fireplug housewife in a lower-income neighborhood was a staple trope. You need only turn on Little Rascals reruns to see there were fat preteens.

The problem is far greater now, but it has always been with us.

One moar thing to consider stocking up on.

Our Costco offers a large package of off-brand large-tins of (literally) large sardines. The appearance probably put canning-company buyers off, but there's no difference in taste. And now's our Last Call, before 7 years of famine.

Which I think is now inevitable. If you're not buying, there's only two good reasons: No money/credit, and/or housing or location uncertainty.

Yer right casey, I've eaten five year old tins of sardines packed in olive oil, just like week old ones.
Betcha I have a few tins back there somewhere in the larder, ten years or moar.
