What I want to know is, how many of the "highly principled" people who are against everything Trump tries to do, will be refusing any gov check they might happen to get, on those same high principles?

The entire DOGE program was scuttled by the Dems.

Why the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Closed

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — a high-profile cost-cutting initiative launched by President Donald Trump in January 2025 — officially shut down on July 4, 2026, eight months ahead of its scheduled end date Times Now. The closure came after Elon Musk, who had been appointed as a “special government employee” to lead the agency, left Washington in May 2025 TIME+1.

Key Reasons for the Shutdown

1. Musk’s departure and lack of progress
Musk’s 130‑day contract expired in May 2025, and he had not come close to achieving his publicly stated $1 trillion deficit reduction target TIMETIME. Tensions between Musk and Trump over his “One Big Beautiful Bill” and other policy disagreements reportedly worsened, leading to a breakdown in their working relationship TIME.

2. Political and political‑style controversies
DOGE’s aggressive measures — including mass layoffs, contract cancellations, and agency closures — drew criticism from Democrats and some Republicans for overreach, lack of oversight, and potential legal or ethical concerns Yahoo Finance. Critics questioned whether the promised $2 trillion in savings was realistic, with the administration later claiming only about $215 billion in savings Times Now.

3. Internal dysfunction and public backlash
Staff reportedly packed up and left before the end date, and tensions rose between Trump and Musk in June 2025 Yahoo Finance. The initiative’s rapid, top‑down approach and minimal stakeholder input fueled skepticism about transparency and accountability Yahoo Finance.

4. Absorption into other agencies
After the shutdown, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) confirmed DOGE no longer existed as a centralized entity, with most of its functions absorbed into OPM and the Office of Management and Budget TIME. The White House said it would continue pursuing DOGE’s goals, but without issuing a final performance report Times Now.

Legacy

DOGE’s closure left its legacy sharply contested: supporters credited it with some efficiency gains and deregulation, while opponents saw it as politically driven, poorly executed, and lacking verifiable results Times Now. The initiative’s abrupt end underscored the fragility of politically charged, high‑profile government projects.

So were the tariffs. Courts made him refund it, remember?

The tariffs are still on going, as you're well aware of as per your posts in the Tracking Trump's Tariffs and Turbulent Trade Talks thread. lol

As for the refunds you're right but the refunds went to big business not the little guy.

Don't know about "highly principled" people but I'll be more than happy to accept any government check I might get.

And while we're on the subject, would you care to donate to the Give Searcher Money Fund? R or D, doesn't matter, all are free to donate. Send me a pm and I'll let you know where to send the $$$. Once I get the $$$ I'll say a prayer that will bring blessing upon you and yours.

Musk’s departure and lack of progress
Musk departed due to his company being attacked by people burning and vandalizing his company because they were against what he was trying to.

Democrats were also fighting everything DOGE tried to do.

Edited to add: surely you remember the fear mongering about how Musk was gonna cut everyone's SS, yes?
.....and remember the DOGE guy who got attacked and beaten because he was simply doing his job and trying to help the gov cut waste and fraud?

Idiot Dems who rely on cheating and corruption were the responsible party that ended DOGE.

Dems used the courts to force it stop.

Had to give refunds to companies who paid those tariffs.

You posted about it yourself, and cheered that the money had to be given back.

Now you say that that never happened?

IMHO, anyone keeping the money isn't helping anything other than themselves at the expense of their own future selves.

Keeping it is just a symptom of the general public not giving a shit about what's actually good for the nation. Only seeing what can they get from it.

Of course there won't be. Congress controls the purse strings.

Principle, what principle? What in the name of god are you talking about?

It's money!

Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash

Like him or not, Bernie's always good for a laugh.

I was gonna post, things have really come to a camp-meeting Hell when Bernie makes moar sense than the Great Golden Hope.

But then, I thought...no, old Bernie, drooling and incoherent, hasn't the focus to compile this.

It's his STAFF. One of those DSA types, who are gonna impose Global "Socialism" upon the Unwashed - for their own good, don't you know.

Their own good - as determined by the new masters out of the DSA. Who only need "democracy" long enough to impose "responsible government" onto the "haters" - and then,. can conveniently discard the pro-democracy arguments like used Charmin.

ASSUMING these checks (EFT transfers) actually happen...

A few hundred-thousand high-minded persons refusing the money (if that were possible; ever try to reverse an EFT transaction involving an institution?...much less, government) won't matter a damn.

This obviously is just to keep the grift machine, the MIC money-printing party, going for a few quarters moar. Collapse is inevitable; this just maybe delays it a bit

Since government is so STOO-PIDD as to DO this, I would have NO trouble taking that $5k Trump Stimmy and buying a nice k-rand with it.

And burying it with the others.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to allow the U.S. Postal Service to carry out parts of a new rule on mail-in voting. In a brief, unsigned order, the justices left in place a ruling by a federal judge in Boston that bars the USPS from implementing aspects of the rule.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh penned a one-paragraph concurrence in which he agreed with the decision to deny the government’s request. He suggested that, in his view, the Postal Service might have the power to issue the rule. But even if it does, he continued, election officials “do not have sufficient time to reasonably implement the rule before” the November elections.

We gotta keep that ballot-harvesting machine running!

Me, I'm tapped out. I cast no more votes...not with their fake computer schemes, not with their fake selection processes.

I'll vote with boom-sticks. I'm ready to cast a ballot...

🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: The Trump DOJ has made MAJOR voter fraud arrests in the following states

- Wisconsin
- Michigan
- New Jersey
- Massachusetts
- Georgia
- Texas
- Idaho

And MANY more are coming. Noncitizen voter fraud is FINALLY being prosecuted on a larger scale! 🔥

It will be the MISSION of Trump's DHS and DOJ to root out any and all cheating this November

This needs to be paired with new election laws passed by Congress. One election day, mail-in voting restrictions, voter ID and proof of citizenship, and stop making people wait WEEKS for vote counting

No wonder so many people have not trusted elections in every state. You need SECURE ELECTIONS for a secure America 🇺🇸

So...we're gonna defeat the Communists with the Technocrat movement.

Here's the dirty little secret: There's little difference, to the little people, between Schwab-style Technocracy (Peter Thiel and Elon Musk) and Democrackhead Socialism...which in truth, is more like Fascism.

It's still a command/control economy with directives sent down from the Elites. Are the Elites the sexual deviants who know to write code; or are they the collectivists who think they're all Robin Hood. When in fact they're Josef Stalin clones.

Waiting for the naysayers with TDS to start distancing themselves from the 'dark' money

5306, Michigan County Clerk: 9 out of 10 Votes Were Fraudulent!

Elections have become a farce and fraud.

And, given the moral vacuousness of the people at the top; and the room-temperature-IQ people they solicit and cater to...it cannot help but be this way.

Once again, as I have all my life, I am bucking the trend. The trend is, old geezers are the most-dependable regular voters.

This old codger just swore it off, like a bad habit.

I'm done. We're going the way of South Africa.

How Nevada debunked Trump’s noncitizen voting claims

President Donald Trump and his administration want you to believe that nearly 16,000 noncitizens may be illegally registered to vote in our state. There’s just one problem: They haven’t produced any evidence to support their claim. None.

The Department of Homeland Security originally alleged that as many as 15,903 noncitizens were registered to vote in Nevada. Yet when Nevada election officials began asking simple questions — like “what are these people’s names?”; “how were they identified?” and “what records support the allegation?” — the administration’s bombshell claim fizzled.

Federal officials eventually provided Nevada with 185 people DHS claimed its manual review had confirmed were noncitizens.

Is it just me, or are things unusually calm?

We are 5 weeks out from the midterms, and it’s ridiculously quiet. I figured we would all be at each other’s throats by this point.

The MSM don’t really have any narratives to go with at the moment. The public have largely soured on the Left’s message/agenda, and Americans as a whole have largely rejected the woke nonsense, to the point that even the Dems are retroactively admitting that “Woke 1” was a mistake, essentially conceding that they are batshit crazy and Trump/MAGA were right.

Even podcastistan, the doomers, and all the dumb supposed Right-wing influencers pushing Charlie Kirk nonsense, have all lost their credibility and steam.

People just aren’t buying the bullshit the same way they used to, and the psychological operations have lost a fair bit of their potency.

I like our position headed into the election, but we will see if there are any October surprises. I expect there will be.

It's a done deal.

The RINO-Repubicrats have locked things up for the Party of Government.

They're prepping their sad-sack act, now.

It's Controlled Opposition. And notice how they vilify anyone who points this out...the brain-dead pfux tell us that somehow NOT PARTICIPATING (and validating) this sham, this ongoing series of frauds, is contributing to it.

Up is Down. Remove the elected candidate, in Germany, in France, in Ukraine...TO PROTECT DEMOCRACY.

I ain't playing. When enough people wise up enough to get their shoulder-cannon ready...I'm there.
