Ex-CIA official arrested after $40M in gold bars allegedly found inside his home

A former CIA official was arrested last week after FBI agents allegedly found $40 million worth of gold bars at his home while investigating whether he lied about his educational and military background, according to court records and sources familiar with the matter.

David Rush is currently being held in jail while both his defense attorneys and federal prosecutors "gather and evaluate additional information" to assist the court in determining whether he should remain detained, court filings say. They have jointly requested to postpone his detention hearing until June 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The guy had balls for sure.

I hesitate to turn in a lunch receipt for more than $30 on my expense report and I own the company.

So how does that work exactly? You got a gov ID so you walk in and say hey I need 300 of those kilo gold bars for a covert operation and thats all I can tell you.? Load em into my trunk. Have a nice day.

Maybe he was set up as a pidgeon?

How CIA officer David Rush, caught with $40M gold bars, engineered most significant financial crime in agency’s history: sources

The early morning tranquility of Snowpine Place, a residential street in upmarket Ashburn, Virginia, was suddenly shattered on May 18 by an FBI raid.

Agents in tactical gear swarmed the block of well-kept homes at 6:00 a.m., one shouting into a bullhorn, “This is the FBI. We have a warrant for your arrest. Come out with your hands up.”

A local disturbed by the commotion looked out to spot his neighbor, CIA agent David Rush, being led out in handcuffs, as reported on NBC4 Washington.

Works like "Kelly's Heroes."

You identify the gold, and where it's held. Everyone between you and that gold, you just offer a cut.

Yeah, this guy is probably a fall-guy, maybe a stooge or patsy. Maybe he's the brain; probably not.

It's on the down-low because there's almost-certainly SO MUCH culpability around...

A $40 million gold heist risks exposing CIA’s top-secret spy programs

Five decades ago, four burglars broke into a billionaire’s safe, setting off a chain of events that exposed and foiled one of the CIA’s most ambitious operations against the Soviets.

Now, Central Intelligence Agency veterans are worried that another seemingly brazen heist—this time allegedly committed by a CIA official—could expose another top-secret program, after authorities say the official walked out of his office with $40 million in gold bars.

^^^ It does shake the faith and make you wonder how many others got away with it...^^^

If he had the gold why was he still in the USA?
Carrying gold across borders and check points is, to put it mildly, an iffy proposition.

Odds are he'd make it across. But the gold would be in someone else's satchel.

As well...here, as in few other places, gold really expands your horizons. Or, anyway, money does.

You got Bill Gates' billions...you can get Bill Gates' prepubescent dates in an island paradise built for those who have Bill-Gates-sized budgets.

You can be caught red-handed with a CIA setup pedophile, as Howard Lutnik was. Show me da money, boy...and den you kin walk.

Not so much, say, in Jebel Ali.

I might add...the price of admission is so much less, here. His haul would have made government officials in the Cayman Islands, LAUGH. He'd not have gotten a balcony seat in Davos. But, here?

Something doesn't add up here.

Why is it an "engineered financial crime" all of a sudden and then it's "exposing CIA's top-secret spy programs"...

and what about bitcoin isn't being used to move it offshore?

This guy has to be smarter than all that!

:unsure::dontknow:

Something doesn't add up here.

Agree, but other than the posts above I haven't heard any more about it. Eventually some good stuff will come out and I'll bet it'll be a very neat story.

I'll tell you right now it was a woman who snitched him. Its always a woman, 34 years of Police work taught me that. They turn on you like a vengeful dragon every time. Want my advice ? If you ever find $40 m in gold bars then tell nobody. I dont know how you would fence such a pile of gold but tell nobody, a woman most of all. Even a wife most of all. They wont understand the trouble fencing such a find and will think your holding out on them; That, Or they will find out about the other females your banging.

Either way it will always be the girlfriend or wife who turns you in. Man all the domestics Ive been to where the old Lady blurts out either, "He has an oz of cocaine" or "He has a Gat with a full auto switch". Firstly I dont give a shit if he has either. Secondly the broad with the big mouth just gave me about 8 hours of work I didn't want and will blow the date "I" had set up with a different girl.

Ex-CIA official found with $40 million in gold bars in plea deal talks

Washington — The Justice Department has reached a tentative plea deal with a former CIA official who was found with more than $40 million worth of gold bars in his home in May, according to a court filing Friday.

Prosecutors and a lawyer for the former CIA official asked a federal district court in Virginia to extend the deadline to file an indictment until Oct. 8, saying "a pre-indictment resolution promotes the public interest by conserving government and judicial resources."

Two-tiered justice, fer sure.

Actually, many tiers. The Masters of the Universe, the Epstein Class, hold the pinnacle.

A bit below, are the Instant Democrats who have come here to save us from MAGA and the scourge of Traditional American Values.

Below that, are the traditional home-grown Dindu Nuffins.

In the bottom of the cesspit, are puke-awful White Males, the former Middle Class, now properly removed from any legal consideration or standing.

David Grusch confirms that he was "Following the Money," and found the Deep State underbelly of the Government. A particular example occurred recently when a CIA officer was arrested for running a fake Continuity of Government Special Access Program and "went under the radar" to get $40 million of gold bars from the agency. How does a COG SAP program go under the radar UNLESS there are many Continuity of Government Programs ongoing! Right!!?

David also tells that he ran into the Deep Underbelly of the Government, a Criminal Enterprise of Government Officers, involved in the most unspeakable endeavors - Child Trafficking.

This is the START of a new layer of disclosure surrounding advanced technology, Epstein and the Criminal Enterprise of the US government known as the Deep State!

We won't bust them up for running a pedophile ring involving tens of thousands of victims...why would this be more meaningful?

TRUMP IS IN ON IT. HE'S RUNNING COVER.
