I completely reject collective punishment
Iranian civilians aren't being punished. Other than a few bridges, Trump hasn't ordered the bombing of civilian targets.

When Obozo bombed Libya he hit all manner of civilian targets. Power plants, bridges, anything deemed dual use. Ie: stuff with both military use as well as civilian use.

Same with Clinton in Kosovo.
......and there was no huge outcry about it here.

But the Iranian military should be shut down. If that is not possible, their military must be killed.
Trump's trying to.

IMHO, his biggest mistake in all this was in easing off. Shoulda kept the heat on.
....and the backdoor negotiation requests from Iran while they publicly deny they wanted to talk, didn't help either.

What he should have done was to insist that any request from Iran be done publicly. Otherwise no talking, just bombing.

The Iranians admit they are working hard towards building nukes. I say we should take them at their word.

Does anyone truly believe the World would be a better place with a nuclear armed Iran?

I do not accept the Shah's reign in Iran. He was not a legitimate ruler, and his overthrow and death was welcome to history. The Ayatollah was even worse. And his followers were the most despicable.

It wasn't welcome relative to what replaced it.

The people of Iran got f'ed over.

The majority in Iran do not want what they have as a government, but are powerless to stop it.

Had the Iranian people been given am honest vote as to what would replace the Shah, it sure wouldn't have been for the mofo's runnin' the place now.

  • President Donald Trump has demanded reparations from Iran “for the damage they’ve done over a 50-year period.”
  • He also said the U.S. has control of the Strait of Hormuz.
  • The impasse leaves Washington treating its naval presence as a permanent fixture guaranteeing access, while Tehran treating that same presence as the primary obstacle to normalizing traffic.

^^^Wow the israelis are just as capable as the persians of inhuman sadistic crimes, what a revelation.

More on this:

Who the fu*k actually knows what the hell is actually happening.

Truth is the first casualty of war.

More available than one needs

This is worth noting for two key reasons:
1) Iran DOES have gasoline shortfalls from a domestic production vs consumption standpoint
2) A VERY large part of this is due to the fact that Iranian gas costs ~$0.05. This incentivizes overuse and smuggling.

Overuse because you have no tradeoff costs from just driving everywhere/using gasoline constantly and wastefully.

Smuggling because you can purchase it for wildly low prices, and then sell into neighboring countries for easy profits.

It is not the “crisis” many claim it to be (as Greg points out as well).

You would think we would have a rotation schedule set up, but this war was supposed to be a two-day affair...
Overstretched.

The Ford is probably still dealing with the "sewage system" problems (whatever REALLY happened).

AND...as with ALL lines of work, all phases of modern life, supervisors (ossifers in the Five-Sided Funny Farm, in this case) have ZERO empathy or appreciation for what goes on on the ground, or in this case, at sea, on the decks.

Probably a bunch of Type F DEI ossifers that the Trumpbots won't fire, even though it's essential they do so.

And if he hadn't chickened out, the Israelis would have killed him...
