lol This one is actually funny.
Now here's something to consider. Suppose Wally world and other places want to do away with in person shopping
I could be dead wrong here. Burt it would save them a ton of money. Get rid of cashiers, and all sorts of other peeps and charge for deliveries??????
Who knows.
They'd lose. They might as well save the effort and just close, with signs sending former customers to go to Bezoszon.
Why? Because it's not their field of expertise. It's not the online shoppers' habit to go to WallyWorld.com and it's going to feel unfamiliar.
AND there will be a learning curve. What Bezos figured out 14 years ago, WITHOUT competition, Wally World would have to do as good as, WHILE FIGHTING Bezos, the lobbyists, and the captured congresscretins.
It's stepping out of areas they know. That generally fails...Sears was doing okay until Kmart bought it, and tried to run Sears like Kmart. Especially since Kmart wasn't doing so hot.
Like when Federated Department Stores bought R.H. Macy & Co. when Macy was having a rough period. Federated ran a string of regional chains, all of them a step above dollar-store crap vendors. They slapped the Macy name on their crappy stores, turned the original Macy stores into crap vendors, and lo and behold! The new Macy's is now one step out of bankruptcy court! The Macy name now means, cheap and disorganized!
I think, with the coming push, Bezos is not gonna have it good. As people (more of them) find the downside of e-tracking and everything online (from de-banking, from restrictions on what a person can buy, tied into Social Credit scores) people will prefer even smelly flea markets to Bezoszon Data Collection and Sales.
Of course, by then Wally World may not be able to GET product to STOCK. It may be with the simians taking over our cities, there will BE no large self-service department stores. Just as there are not any now, in Africa.
The future will be very interesting to see.
