LAPD's 'Operation Street Sweeper' impounds 200 cars, arrests 69 in huge Labor Day weekend street takeover bust
The city of Los Angeles and its police department are seriously done with street takeovers. In an effort to crack down on these dangerous semi-impromptu gatherings known to invoke damage of area businesses and chaos in surrounding neighborhoods as well as unsafe road conditions, the LAPD created "Operation Street Sweeper." Over the holiday weekend, over 150 officers who participated in the operation took down one of the city's massive takeovers, with over 700 people in attendance that resulted in the impounding of 200 vehicles and 69 (nice) arrests.Read the rest:

Especially the "entertain strangers" part. So MUCH toxic and stupid behavior, especially online, is done now, to impress people that the posters don't know and probably wouldn't even like. Everything from "Jackass" style stunts, to buying gawdawful-expensive cars to deliver DoorDash or work Uber in.

I'm just waiting for that kind of crap to hit my now-medium-sized mountain town, now a city of 90k.
The basic ingredients, the "diversity" vanguard, have already arrived from Compton. I see them were I shouldn't; and now, for the first time, public restrooms in stores are locked up. Permanently "Out of Order" or, key or purchase only.
Next come the takeovers of low-income housing. We have a lot in town - it's been a growth industry lo these twelve years...a lot of fixed-income retirees, myself included, who were not prepared for their $500 rents to explode to $2200. Nor for taxes to launch on small homesteads they'd bought for $70k 25 years ago, now assessed at $1 million, and taxes adjusted accordingly.
So it's various forms of low-income housing. And talking with the former manager here, who knew managers at other low-income privately-owned complexes...the problems are starting. Kids left alone all day, starting trouble. Vandalism and theft out of cars. Fighting. Noise and loud radios/boomboxes.

Big-Box stores are monuments to a Hight-Trust Society. They didn't come to be in Moslem or even Soviet societies, where the emphasis was on, variously, public piety or subjugation to political ideology and political masters. In both worlds, petty theft, or even high-value theft, when done against someone not politically-connected...such was the order of the day.
Now, we've imported 100 million Turd World potentates of Diversity, and - Surprise! - we're turning into the Turd World. Malls are closing and stores have to put locks on everything. Even security patrols at the exits don't work, when the government refuses to punish crime with a value under a certain not-petty limit. And when corrupt judges refuse to incarcerate thieves because of the color of their SKIN.
This is - obviously - why shopping malls are dying. I'm in an area that's about a decade behind the general societal decay, and our local mall is thriving. Because we don't have dindus staging shooting wars, and we don't have Pak!s walking out of department stores laden with boxes they haven't paid for, cannot pay for, will not pay for.
But Elites in government refuse to address it, so, for law-abiding citizens-now-subjects, we're faced with everything in a store, under lock and key.

It's a location thing. If everything is locked up, it's because of the neighborhood you are in is full of thieves.
