Democrats?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That's certainly where most of the mental illnesses are coming from these days.

They claim to be the party of "science" and believe that men can become pregnant and need tampons in the men's rooms. "Follow the science", they say. 🤪

Anyone remember the precursor to Kmart. - E J Korvette's
Hell, I remember Kresge's, the actual precursor to Kmart. S.S. Kresge Company, Detroit, Michigan.

Near my high school was a precursor to the modern mall...malls had already appeared, of course, but this shopping village hadn't been updated, yet. It was, later, and now has been pulled down with other Dead Malls. But...along the pedestrian paths, the sky open overhead, was Kresge's.

My older brother's girlfriend worked there, and she'd let me slip some bin candy by her, time to time. She was so proud, Kresge was the fastest-growing retailer in the US. Kmarts had already started springing up, but Kresge hadn't realized it was the only future. It would be a few years before Kresge changed its name and closed all its Kresge's outlets.

This was in an era where Woolworths and Grant's were still major retailers.

That was great. Life was so much better back then. Children actually played outside getting exercise instead of glued to the X-Box and relying on social media for friends. Car engines had decent compression and used high-octane leaded gasoline. There were only two genders and there were hospitals for those who thought otherwise.

Interestingly, many of those shots came from areas I had lived in. The Minuteman station was in Mayville, NY. Paul's Gulf was in Jamestown, 18 miles away. Both in Chautauqua County, the southwestern-most county of NY State.

The Sohio shot could have been anywhere in Ohio (the only state that allowed the use of "Sohio" as a trademark - the name comes from Standard of Ohio), but the vegetation suggest the Northeast quadrant. Between Cleveland and Columbus, and before the Pennsylvania border.

Standard of Ohio used "Boron" as a trademark in other states. All that went by the bye when BP took them over (for loaning money for Sohio to develop its Prudhoe Bay oil leases and the Alaska Pipeline) and now, Sohio, Boron, Amoco and some lesser brands, are all BP.

The heat those televisions generated, was wicked.

I wonder if the refrigerated cabinet was able to chill those glasses...
